Looking for 60fps fix - Old pages are no longer up

Anyone know where to get it, or has anyone reuploaded it?

Just nabbed this game in the indiegala bundle, but waiting for the 60fps fix.

Just load it up and leave it running as you play the game.

Whilst in game, press

+ Increase FOV by 5
- Decrease FOV by 5
Backspace - Set FOV to default value (60)
0 - Set FOV to 90
9 - Set FOV to 100
8 - Set FOV to 80

90 seems perfect for this game.







To change the 30fps cap to 60fps

Download a hex editor, HxD for free - http://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/

Start it up and open EDF-IA.exe (location: Steam\steamapps\common\earth defense force insect armageddon).

Scroll down to the line 00024BA0 and change the values "54 24 24" to "D1 8B D1" and save

What does this fix change exactly?

You change those three pairs of hexidecimal digits, and the game goes from 30fps to 60fps

Well I understand that, but what are those hex digits actually changing in the game to give the FPS boost?

They are probably switching off the framerate lock. I couldn't tell you. People are talking about 60fps though, so I'd guess it's locking it at 60 instead.

Not really concerned about the FOV since its a third-person game but the FPS-lock thing works like a treat. I always love doing Hex editing, makes me feel 1337455. :P Thanks!

I just read the 60fps unlock procedure and went into the EDF-IA.exe via the hex editor, but didn't found the "54 24 24" string of numbers. I only have "24 24".

So Im asking if anyone has the already modified 60fps exe file. The old links are down.

Anyone care to post it? You can upload it with www.wetransfer.com , mega or whatever.
