Strider bug report thread **UPDATED 03/14/14**

Hi there!

Please use this forum thread for any issues (as well as solutions) you may encounter with Strider. Please note, the more detail, the better. Any screen grabs or video that can be taken showing the issue or error message, DXDiag of your hardware, steps you've taken to fix the issue, etc. go a long way to help.

Also please note that we've seen the other discussions in the forum before this one went up, you do not need to repost a separate discussion to this thread.

**UPDATE 02/27/14**

I wanted to provide an update to some of the feedback I've seen in this discussion thread. Please see below.

-Minimum specs being too high for users-

To reiterate from Strider’s product page, the game does need the 64-bit version of Windows Vista, 7, or 8, and a compliant graphics card (ATI Radeon HD 5770 / GeForce GTX 460 or better) that supports DirectX 11. Please note additionally that integrated graphic cards are not supported.

-Lack of D-pad controller configuration and/or ability to rebind controls-

We believe the standard controls for Strider provides the best possible experience, but there are guides available for those who want to go beyond and make personal adjustments to their experience.

-Strider being flagged as a virus-

-The game crashes when users take screenshots or use framerate clocking software-

We continue to monitor reports of this issue and will share additional information when available.

-Game audio sounds hollow or very low or pushed to the rear speakers when using more than 2.1-

We have seen reports that the rear channel speakers can be too loud on some multi-channel setups. If you are experiencing this, we suggest adjusting the volume of the individual channels in 5.1 to lower the rear speakers to a level that feels right for your particular setup.

-Scaling and resolution issues-

For anyone experiencing this issue, we are currently working on a fix to address it.

-Feedback in support of DX9-

The PC version of the game is designed for a 64-bit DX11 platform and we believe this allows for the best experience, allowing the PC version to perform as well or better than the next-generation console versions.

-Screensaver starting up, causing the game to crash-

Disabling your screensaver should address this from occurring.

Since first receiving the error, I have run Windows update, downloaded the latest DirectX 11, updated my graphics card drivers, restarted my PC.
None of which had any change or effect.

Periodically, my game will crash when taking screenshots. It will also black screen when alt+tabbing and it will crash after a short amount of playtime. (around 2 minutes).

If I disable Steam Overlay, I can play normally.

I just keep getting an error that the game cannot find the executable. I erased the folder the link told me to erase, and I still get the same message.

I can't even boot the game. :-(

I'm using 5.1 sound via HDMI [ati card] and everything sounds very hollow; I can barely hear the music and a lot of effects seem pushed towards the rear channels. If I set things for stereo, it's a little bit better but the sound is still hollow and I have to crank my receiver up to about twice the volume setting as any other game.

FWIW, I'm having zero issues with controls or visuals though; fun game looks great, but I really hope this issue gets ironed out.

Every now and then my game freezes with the music still running without a problem. And there's nothing to help me indicate why it's happening either as it comes out of the blue.

OS HDD: Samsung SSD 840 250GB

I cannot play the game in fullscreen. I use a Windows 8 with a Nividia GT 750m graphic card, I tried everything I could find here in the forums but I still can't play it in fullscreen. I opened both Nvidia and Intel graphic control panels but nothing works, help me!!!

only issue I have with the game is max framerate that keeps floating between 58 and 60 frames. It's a little bit annoying because it causes stuttering.
everything else is fine.

Can you release a complete game without bugs for once? Or failing that can you at least have a team together to get a patch out in a timely manner? This should have already been finished and resolved.

We have several users facing scaling issues when going on fullscreen. Do you know when this issue will be fixed or what is causing it?

I installed and played the game perfectly fine for about 2 hours. After I closed the game and logged off for a while, I came back and tried playing the game again. All I got was a black screen I couldnt close, and after several minutes of waiting it still failed to load.

Alright, got it to work.

Uninstall it, and reinstall it without having your antivirus or firewall on. I turned of Norton and poof, installed and ran for 15 minutes or so--long enough to see it was working and to respond to everyone on this thread.

At least fo rme, it worked.

At the very least XB1 version doesn't have any problems. It seems to be mostly the PC version that's having problems. So yeah, they can.
