Workshop Download Recommendations (Now with list in first post!)
EDIT 2: Dedicating this topic to a listing of all great UGC as a resource for others as well.

I'm finding myself a bit lost looking around the loads of content in the workshop, and I've found content that relies on other content, and it's a tad intimidating...so what would you recommend as "must-have" amongst the workshop creations- when it comes to apps, campaigns, et cetera?

EDIT 1: From the developers and staff themselves, a good list of UGC to subcribe to (some of it may be on nexus):

Shadowrun Unlimited. It is a work in progress. Changes, adds, and rebalances things to turn the game inro an open world game with random missions.

Understandable. Does it change the current campaigns, or would it be listed as a separate campaign? I'm a little unclear as to how it works (I remember seeing that one in particular in the "top rated of all time", and it caught my itnerest).

Pretty much everything you get in the workshop is going to be a whole new campaign that you select when you go to New Game. If I understand right, there's also other stuff that are resource packs that contain stuff like buildings, etc... that certain campaigns use.

I see! Thank you for answering my question about that aspect. I'll keep this in mind as I try to get more suggestions. ^_^

Shadowrun Unlimited is in the Steam Workshop and all you have to do is subscribe to it. It will then be available as an option to play in the list next to the standard campaigns. The game play is different from the standard campaigns in several ways. You can save and continue games just like the standard campaigns. They are not directly connected however and you must start a new character.

Okay, somewhat surprised (and excited!) the actual devs/staff decided to message me back. Thanks for the recommendations, I'll be looking them up right now and adding them to my subscriptions.

Thanks for answering so comprehensively, and seeing how you take care of the fan-made mods and even customers curious about the product? I've just become a very loyal customer.

Aw, shucks.

I can only un-recommend From the Shadows, Run - quality writing plays a huge role in Shadowrun gaming and the writing in this mod is really atrocious. There's an egregious spelling error in the first lines of intro text, and it's only downhill from there.

Nightmare Harvest is the only other mod I've tried, the writing is much better, it takes a grittier, more hard-edged approach, more swearing (which is fine by me) and down-n-dirty, anything-to-make-a-buck gameplay.

I looked into some of the stories listed, but things like Jacked Up are just demos, and not full stories. Are there any finished stories so far? By which I mean, not just a chapter or two.

The Antumbra UGCs are all standalone, and fully wrap up their story arcs each episode. You can choose to play your character again in the next, but it isn't mandatory. So I would consider those complete, since each new installment falls more under a Sequel type experience, than "the next chapter."

Lonestar: Double Indemnity

Is this still on steam or elsewhere? I couldn't find it in workshop :(

It might be on nexus, in which case you'd need the nexus mod manager.

Jacked up also seems to have 2 versions by different authors - ones getting a lot of hate.
