[BUG] Broken keyboard and controller input (Ubuntu 16.04 LTS x64)

Congrats to Feral on another promising port!

Unfortunately it appears both keyboard and controller input do not currently function as expected (tested on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS x64):

Keyboard

• The [Up] arrow on the keyboard does not respond when pressed, menu navigation only appears to respond to the [Down] arrow and [Enter] keys.

Controller

• Both the Steam Controller and official wired Xbox 360 controller do not function at all within the game, using the [Steam] button does correctly open/close the Steam Overlay when pressed.

These issues have been reported to Feral's support team directly, I will update this post as further information is received.

Hopefully a fix will be provided soon.

damn just bought the game. should waitted longer. but on same time by buying onlinux i have helpt gaming on linux ;)

Anyone else who comes across bugs in the Max / Linux releases - take them to Feral directly as they do not watch these forums.

Why not here? The users can not interact with another users with the same problem, and help each other in this forum? And if yes, why this?

I came here cause the game appeared as a Linux game. And, Jesus, why the linux threads are almost all locked?

You can discuss it here with other users of course, but I meant if you actually want them looked at then take them to Feral directly as they do not watch these forums.

Agreed, it's also worth noting these issues do not appear to affect all Linux users (see the "Steam Controller & Gamepads" and "Comments" sections):

Feral have been made aware of this post but I'll continue to provide updates as they're received.

Hopefully the wait will be short.

Have you tried reverting it to default settings, or verifying the cache?

Works with both keyboard and gamepad for me.

I've pointed feral to this topic to let them know, FYI they do usually keep an eye on the Steam forums for all their ports.

We have not had anyone else report this issue so it's likely an issue with your Linux setup most likely a keyboard layout that is not a usual one. However as Laptop65 suggested contacting us directly is always easier. We do monitor the Steam Community forums but it's always a better idea to contact us directly.

Instructions on how to do this are in the pre game launcher and in this pinned post.

Hi Liam,

I believe the "default" setting is being used, it's the first time I've played this game and nothing has been changed.

After trying various combinations of controllers, with and without Steam's "Big Picture" mode, I tried the verify cache feature but the issues remain.

Thanks, I updated them too as part of my direct communication with their support team.

My Xbox 360 controller (wired) dos not work at all. In every other steam game it works. I'm on Ubuntu 16.04 too. I wrote firal directly. Just want to leave a comment here, so Itatkinson knows he is not alone...

Thanks for the information, it's good to know I'm not an isolated case.

Does your keyboard/mouse work correctly in-game?

Hopefully we will find some common-denominator to help Feral resolve the issue.

Keyboard and mouse are working correctly. It's just the controller thats ignored.

Are you using the latest Steam release? (Steam > Help > About Steam)

My Steam build is: Oct 20 2016, at 19:14:38 (package version 1477000231).

Just looking for some useful common-denominators between our systems.
