[Linux] Game won't launch - no errors
So I'm running in ArchLinux with the latest Nvidia Drivers (Ti 750). When I launch the game, Steam will briefly say "starting", but then nothing happens. There are no errors and the game does not launch.

I read the other thread by Snow Phoenix about turning off cloud sync. I've tried turning off both cloud sync and steam overlay to no effect. Please help!

Hey Fishstix,

Sorry to hear about this.
This sounds like it could be a system conflict or issue with Steam.
To rule Steam out, please cleanly exit and then restart Steam.
If the issue is still occurring, it might be that there is an issue with some of the games local data. To fix this, please follow the steps below:
  • Launch Steam
  • Navigate to the ‘Library’ tab and locate Superfrog HD
  • Right click on Superfrog HD and select the option ‘Properties’ at the bottom
  • In the newly opened properties window, please navigate to the ‘Local Files’ tab
  • Please select and run the last option in this menu, ‘Verify Integrity Of Game Cache’
If you're still having issues at this point, it may be the case that there is a conflict between the game and your ArchLinux distro, which we don't officially support.

Thank you,
BenTeam17

I verified integry of the game files, and they are okay. I've tried restarting steam as well as rebooting my machine. I have the latest Nvidia Drivers installed, and I'm still having the same issue. I'll try on my Ubuntu 14.04 desktop and reply.
Thanks.

Hey all,

Could you please check your processes and a terminal output of what's going on.
Knowing whether the issue is occurring before the Superfrog HD shell script runs would be a big help. To figure this out, please follow the instructions below and get back to me when possible:

Originally posted by BenTeam17:
...please start a command prompt and type the following:

ulimit -c unlimited

(Please note that there is no letter 'n' in ulimit.)

Then, please make sure that Steam is running and that you are signed in.
Proceed to type the following:

cd ~/.local/share/Steam/SteamApps/common/Superfrog/

Followed by:

../../../ubuntu12_32/steam-runtime/run.sh ./superfrog.sh

This makes sure that Superfrog is run correctly using the Steam Linux Runtime and that any crash generates a memory dump file to the games local directory.
Please find this dump file (Named 'core') and include a text hosting link to the information in your response.

Thank you,
BenTeam17

Hi BenTeam17,

I did exactly as you asked, and here is the output from the terminal:
http://pastebin.com/46LJ3qNC

I couldn't find the core file, but I think the above output is the same.
Hi again all,

Thanks for getting back with this information.
It looks as though you're running into a known issue with language and system configurations that conflict with the game.
To fix this, please follow the instruction below:
Originally posted by BenTeam17:
Alternatively, please locate ‘sudo nano /etc/locale.conf’ and replace the line ‘LC_COLLATE’ with ‘# LC_COLLATE="C"'.

Once you have carried out this action, please restart your system attempt to run the game again.

Thank you,
BenTeam17
