Far Cry® 3 Blood Dragon

Far Cry® 3 Blood Dragon

Windows 10 and Blood Dragon
For Blood Dragon, is there any necessity to change the files and so on if you have Windows 10?
Because when I click, "Play," for Blood Dragon, nothing happens. No prompts for Uplay or anything.

Exact same issue... will continue looking for support elsewhere and I'll link findings (if any).

Got game to load and played through tutorial using the fix here:

http://www.crashwiki.com/far-cry-3-blood-dragon-crashes-errors-wont-start-lagging-failed-to-validate-dx11-problems/

Quick tip, for some reason when I copy/paste the “-uplay_steam_mode” portion, the quotes used in the filepath don't work and I had to delete/retype the quotation marks to get it to take.

Now... after about 15-20 mins the game crashed so I'm going to try the "borderless" setting mentioned in the same article and hopefully that will work.

Goodluck to you friend!

Quick tip: Never copy/paste commands. Symbols like " - _ for some reason don't seem to be recognised properly in a command prompt. If you are going to do it anyway, I recommend to only re-type the symbols. The text should be fine.

I've been working on this a while and I STILL can't seem to fix the cashes... I've read countless forum posts and articles but they are curiously void of much helpful information. Lots and lots of complaining from angry gamers, but no real fix for the crashing as far as I've been able to find.

To make matters worse, I can't play long enough to get to a save point so I've played the tutorial about 11 times, hoping "This time it's going to work..."

Anyone have any advice for me?

I don't have any advice but know that you are not alone. I'm having the same experience. I havn't found a fix yet but if I do, I'll post it here.

I have windows 10 and it runs perfectly.

I've been working with UbiSupport since the 4th and we've basically reinstalled all my drivers, verified and repaired all versions of .NET, disabled everything possible except Blood Dragon, and haven't managed to fix it yet. I think we're getting close though because I'm getting a different error when it crashes that actually gives me some useful information.

Will post if we find the culprit.

EDIT:

Jet, do you have Microsoft.NET 4.0 and 4.5 on your system? One thing I wasn't able to address when talking with Ubi was the fact that my Win10 install comes with .Net 4.6 which supersedes the previous versions and won't allow me to install 4.0/4.5 which Ubi says are required for Blood Dragon to run.

First, for those of you using Windows 10, Blood Dragon was designed pre-Windows 10 so Windows 10 is unsupported. I recommend doing things like doing a fresh install of your video card driver and windows resources and see if that fixes it.

For those of you not on Windows 10, there's currently an issue with the beta version of Steam and some of our Uplay games. Try opting out of the beta and see if that fixes the issue. To see if you are participating in the Steam Beta, check your Steam settings.

Click where it says "Steam", then click "Settings" and then "Account".

If it shows you are participating in a beta version of Steam, please opt out of it and restart the Steam client.

If Blood Dragon works at that point, it was probably because of the beta. If it still doesn't work after that, please contact our support team at support.ubi.com and they should be able to help you out.

Thanks for the tip! I checked and I am not opted in to the beta so that's not my issue. As I mentioned previously, I've done fresh installs of all my drivers and windows resources with the exception of the .NET framework versions that are superseded by .NET 4.6. I'll continue working with support staff.

Thanks again.

I play on Windows 10 and have had no problems so far, I have only played 1 hour of the game. I installed it on Windows 10 because I bought it yesterday, try reinstalling the game. Hope this helps.

In the newest version of windows 10 is impossible to play it... I have to get back to 7. there is no solution right now for that issue.
ForeverEndeavor Sep 17, 2015 @ 7:32pm
Yeah after 2 weeks of back and forth with Ubisoft support, they said it's incompatible and they would forward my details to the people working on fixing it. They are aware of the problem and are actively working on a solution. Until then... I'll play something else and stop worrying that my computer is broken haha.

Same issue, only 1) I have Windows 8.1, and 2) it crashed just after my first stealth kill. I had the files verified, and it told me that 50 of them needed to be reinstalled. Ill get back to you if it works.
