Are You really pleased so easily?
To all of you, who are defending this game would be ready. I myself had a lot of fun playing this game, always knowing this was unfinished and more stuff will be added. However, after 30 hours of gamplay I already know almost every way of playing this game... and thats not allot. I know there are crazy and colossal things to do, but what this game really needs, is a proper basic warefare. The game of: "who can build more tanks in less time" isn´t really what a I want for longterm gaming expierence. It can be fun to spam, right, but there should be other ways to to it. And No, mindlessly throwing planets at each other is not the big deal, it gets kinda old after the 3rd time u see it.
Just look at older games like AoE oder CnC Zero Hour where you had many strats to go for. And these games are already 10+years. So why is it sooo arrogant, to ask for more in 2014? especially for 30-50€ most of us have payed for it.
Just because it occures so often these days, games a released with less then expected, doesn´t mean it must become the new normal...

I know im not the only butthurt guy around here, but take a look at the game for more then just 5 minutes and tell that this game isn´t far away from beeing finished.

Agreed. This game is nowhere near complete. In fact, the latest patch just broke the game and they're saying that it is the "release" version patch for the game. If they release this game as it is then I feel sorry for anyone who pays full price as they are still getting an unfinished game. So many promises, so little delivered on this one. I had high hopes for this game but I would honestly rather go back to playing the original Total Annihilation than this current pile of garbage.

Get your flak jackets boys. Fanboys are incoming to tell you just how wrong you are.

That would be fair, If only it wasn't for the fact you are both bang-on correct.

The game is alpha, with a DLC store to boot. $10 for a skin in a game lol

"We don't know how to make games but we're gonna tell you it's not ready because they didn't do thing I want/like!"

Grow up, kids.

If you've done 30 hours on a 20 pound game it's value for money. And I've seen games that are far less complete then this that charge for more. Wait a little longer, you can complain about how good it is when it's finished.
And no I'm not a fanboy. I picked this game up on a wimp 2 days ago, and I know of ones that are better quality.

grow up? well, i work for the money to buy me games, so i can give my opinion to it if im not satisfied with the thing/game i bought.

I call myself a Fan and i wouldn´t say that this game is not finished if i weren´t so sure.
Nevertheless i will continue to play the game, and i still wanna have fun playing it. right now im just really mad at the devs, who are rushing the realese and pushing it out of their responsibility, cuz now they can always say: "hey guys its released, we´re done!" its not the first time something like that happend. Notch did the same with minecraft... at least some other folks finished it for him.

I advise all Uber fans to prepare. These types of threads and their volume will make you want to take a vaction from steam forums, or from the man-caves entirely around release date. This'll be interesting.

I honestly thought there were going to be more features. It still feels kinda empty.

That would make Uber pretty big liars, and i don't see any hint into that direction. If they just abandon the game for no reason, you have my torch. Until then it's better to calm down and follow the information, the devs are pretty open on the forums.

Uber said themselves 1.0 is only a number for them, it's NOT supposed to be the full game (which tbh is a strange approach). The remaining features will be worked in just as they were before release, and the game will be supported as long it is financially viable.

That's the plan. As you see, 'we're done' isn't an excuse, not even with Uber's interpretation. It's always good to be careful in the game industry, but to me the devs seem to be very reasonable.

I haven't played PA in a while, will probably start again tomorrow, so I can't really comment on the current state of the game.
However, I can say that PA is not a 30-50€ but a 15-20€ game. That's the release price they were always aiming at. If you want to compare PA to other games compare it to games in that price segment, not to AAA titles with a budget easily 10x times as big as Ubers.

If you take all of the 4 races of supreme commander, and the 3 tiers of units - you have a pretty good unit selection. I know its not apples to apples but I would like some more strategic diversity in unit choice. I think its going to really just be up to the modders to add more depth to the game.

Land-units seem to do ok, Naval still needs work. Orbital queing also has some smaller quirks.

I have no doubt that they will continue to work on this game and get it to a stable and more polished state. I'm just saying that it's nowhere near that right now. The fact that the game basically locks up after about 20 minutes of play against an AI opponent means there is something seriously wrong. Also, why was the ability to see all constructor's build queues removed? That was one of the more helpful features and now it's gone. There is also still a bug present where if you built a metal extractor and it was destroyed, you cannot always build another extractor on that spot. This appears to be entirely random. I feel like these are big enough issues to keep a game from being "release" ready. I mean come on, it's still in alpha. How do you go from alpha to gold with no beta in between? That's called rushing something out the door. Perhaps they're just doing their best Rebellion/Sega impression?

Stop being childish, first asking questions, and then jumping to conclusions from things you don't know. Critizising Ubers approach is ok, but you should know what you're complaining about.
To our knowledge, not a single promised feature of Planetary Annihilation has been cut.

1. Lockup are probably some serverside-bugs coming from the last update, which already are worked on. Furthermore, atm games are running on a weak server, the offline mode will have the 'server'-performance shoot thorugh the roof.
Ubers servers will be upgraded, the community will bring it's own servers.

2. Option menu lets you customize visibility of build and other orders under the UI settings.

3. That extractor thing sounds like a bug, the construction has some rare, janky moments. Make a report and see if people can help you! Either here or:
