Why is this locked to 30fps?
Is this the same for everyone else? Feels choppy as ♥♥♥♥.

Also, why can't we change resolution?

I can confirm it is fixed at 30 fps for whatever reason. But, as far as resolution goes, you do realize you purchased a retro pixel shooter, don't you? You can go full screen in 'O'ptions from the Launch screen.

I'm kind of disappointed that there isn't a pixel-perfect scaling mode for this reason. Imperfect pixel scaling is super ugly.

Uh, plenty of 2D games have resolution options, it's a sign of a quick job if they don't. Ever played Hotline Miami? Published by the same guys as this.

I am sure they will unlock it. 30fps is not fit for the PC Master Race.

Thanks for this thread. Was interested in the game, but I have a zero tolerance policy for stuff like this.

Same reason I'm not playing Dark Souls 2 right now, on a console. :P

I usually do not complain about fps, still 60 fps would be a nice thing for a game where dodging bullets is the main activity.

Agreed. If anyone runs into a mod that unlocks fps please post.

So far every Vlambeer game has been made in Game Maker, so let's assume Luftrausers was too. Based on my, admittedly, limited, experience with it Framerate is tied to game speed. So if Vlambeer "unlocked" the FR to 60, the game would move twice as fast. I'm not defending their decision, I'm just speculating on why the lock to 30.

It's strange, it also feels like the framerate drops below 30 even though Fraps shows otherwise.

Only if it's programmed very badly or the underlying platform only allows frame-specific timing (such as Flash). The latter doesn't apply here and Vlambeer should be experienced enough to not make the former mistake.

I'm almost sure the game is designed to stop/slow down for a split second whenever you get hit. I guess it's either to add impact or to give you slightly more time to get your bearings. Either way it can be pretty disorienting.

I believe they originally make their games in Game maker, but Devolver (or some another company) ports them to a different engine. That's how they run on PS3/VITA.

Yeah it isn't in GameMaker, so it probably can be changed, really hope a dev sees this and unlocks the FPS to 60 at least.

This one was absolutely not made in GameMaker.
