Achievements are the most useless thing in the history of gaming.

Some aren't easy and the 1hp one is going to take some incredible luck.

And just because you love them doesn't mean every game will or should have them.

Also I don't hate them. I just find them unnecessary.

dlc is unnecessary too...but it exists and no one here complains about it

No, because they were put out by game industry to make gamers, who are achieving nothing, feel like they are achieving something. They are there to make children think they have achieved something, when they haven't. I know when I'm playing games I'm being nothing but lazy, my wife knows, my kids know it, I don't need achievement points to try and convince me otherwise. Also many times they are rediculous, I bet if someone was to put in their game an achievement of doing 10,000,000,000,000 headshots, someone would actually waste 20 years of their time to actually get the useless achievement.

Sorry it would actually take 308000 years, but you get my meaning

And achievements were first created by Microsoft, later adopted by Sony and Steam. We all know nothing good comes from Microsoft.

I feel some of them as "challenging" like the ones Zloth made. Something you have to try 1000000 of times to make. Those are good.

I like achievements, personally. They add some extra goals to games plus they can act as a little scrapbook to remind you of some of the things you did. It's fun to compare against what everyone else has done, too.

I like having incredibly lucky situations remembered, too, like that 1hp achievement in my list. Not many games put those in. Too many people get it in their heads that they *must* get every achievement in order to really complete a game and they are NOT happy when you make one that requires nothing other than a mountain of luck. Maybe if they were called something else and put in another category?
