Altough the game is based on Amnesia The Dark Descent and It isn't meant to be scary I had such feeling like something was watching me in the distance when getting through the house under the stormy night and revealing the story piece by piece which may take a lot of braincells to understand correctly.

The map aka the house is really well done and I wish I was able to experience the comfort and the nostalgia vibes It gives. I didn't live in 90's and neither I live in the US but growing in 2000's in Czechia had kinda 90's vibes cause the country was and still is behind the US when It comes to progress.

I really liked this game.

Let me begin this by clarifying that I don't write game reviews often. I'm somewhat particular and self-conscious of my writing and if I'm going to write a review, I want it to mean something and not just leave it at a "It's good :)" or "It's bad >:(" so I'm gonna do my best to write something worth while.
I found this game through an entry on the r/tipofmyjoystick subreddit where someone asked about the game as it was referenced in a video about MyHouse.WAD by Power Pak (if you know, you know <3) and hearing it was a short n' sweet exploration game with a queer narrative underneath, my interest was peaked.
Where do I begin? (Sorry if it's ramble-y)
This was a beautiful story. Again, short and sweet, but still worth while. I really loved seeing details all connect together; like finding out the words on the dad's board in his study came from his father, and how that mixed with losing his publisher seemed to lead to feelings of self doubt. Or the implied "relationship" between the mom and Rick? Or smaller things like how the plaque in the foyer was made by Sam or how her and Lonnie made the pillow fort to protect them from ghosts. How those voicemails were from Lonnie deciding to stay... Finding context and connecting dots from one detail to another felt like piecing together a puzzle, leaving satisfaction when the next big section is done.
And God, putting in that last piece.
Sam's narrative touched my heart. I really appreciate the detail about how Sam's parents were in denial, and how there's nothing about them "coming around". We don't get any notes where they apologize, where they consider if they were wrong. And it's never implied they'd change their minds once they found out their daughter ran away (though, I suppose there's not anything saying the WOULDN'T, so I guess that's up to interpretation)
I'm glad Sam n' Lonnie had the opportunity to choose happiness over hiding themselves. Not everyone gets the opportunity, but they did and they took it.
All in all, a super solid game about runaway 90's lesbians <3 I'm not really sure what more to say besides recommending anyone reading to play if they haven't! It's cute, it's a little creepy, and I fully believe Oscar Masan was also secretly ♥♥♥ /j
