Best HD texture pack for Quake 2?

hey guys, do you have any recommended mod for improving the texture of this game?
note well: I'm looking only for better graphics, not for game modifications

You'll need an engine that supports HD textures, as vanilla QII does not.

I have installed it and extracted it into the Quake 2 folder, but no HD textures appear in game?

are you using a sourceport like Yamagi?

The pack wont work with the vanilla game
