I'd love to give you some competition, DeliciousPi, but I've still got a long ways left to go (I think my best time back on the Playism version was something like 3-4 hours, and I've gotten rustier since)
Rude much dude? It's not really that bad.
Posting La-Mulana videos to the La-Mulana community hub is pretty much exactly what it's for.
Sweet video, OP.
@Ragu
Ha, you're right. They didn't actually fix the physics glitch, but moved the pot you needed to glitch it half a tile over.
Removing early flail whip doesn't change the route by much actually. You drop by to pick it up once you get the Philosopher's Ocarina instead, and basically miss out on using it for the Tower of the Goddess sub-boss, Vimana.
Were you on rapid fire, or could this be something that was patched?
Shouldn't the last version be considered in speedruns anyway?
I speedrun Dark Souls, and after a certain patch they fixed a skip that made you beat the game at the half-point, and people just adapted and moved on, rendering the old runs obsolete.
I guess 1.0 can always be a category like it is in ALTTP for example, but I don't see how it should be the focus when it comes to world records and such.
The glitch in question to get the early Flail Whip actually saves little time, so you can be competitive on any version. Basically, you warp back to Tower of the Goddess to pick it up after getting the Ocarina, then head off to Baphomet. You have some extra dialogue to read with the Philosopher to open it, but you don't have to worry about doing the glitch twice in the run.
That said, even glitchless, it's still possible to conquer this game Any% in under 2 hours in-game timer Personal best time: 1:58:11 (I posted a screenshot up on my Steam Profile)
