What the hell?
Kickstarted this early on, been very very excited about this - I used to pretend to be ill so I could skive off school to play Dungeon Keeper all day back in the 90's. Have managed to hold out for quite some time before actually launching this since adding it to my Steam library (usually I'll keep an early access game installed just to keep an eye on it, but not actually play it until it's "finished")... but... I just couldn't wait any longer. I fire it up, and what do I find...?

My imps actually mine things the moment I click on blocks I want to mine out. I select blocks, and they just start mining it, instantly. Not even a real-cash store popup window?

Seriously guys?

I was looking forward to just clicking a couple of blocks, and then coming back in 24 hours to click another couple of blocks. Maybe set fire to a twenty £pound note and get an entire 3x3 grid instantly to place a hatchery before being told I had to pay £2.99 for each chicken or wait three days for a free egg.

But no, you actually let me do things. In real-time. In an enjoyable, fun manner. And you don't try to rinse me every single click of the way.

I don't understand it. I was genuinely hoping this was going to be the true spiritual successor to the original Dungeon Keepers, but now... now I think there's just no hope.

I understand this is still early access, and is more alpha than beta, but I couldn't even find any placeholder links for real cash stores, and I'm not sure that you'll be able to force 24 hour waits between every single grid-square we mine out at this stage in development.

So disappointed :(

10/10 would almost fall for it again
While this is all fun and stuff, some people might read the header and decide not to buy the game, so i dont really think these titles are good to be used unless the title is true.

It was funny tho - EA Bugs- It's in the game!

That was pretty funny. :)

On a side note, the "other" Dungeon Keeper game has now gotten an article about it's payment model on the BBC, and Subterranean Games gets a mention although sadly they don't mention the actual name "War for the Overworld". Here's a link[www.bbc.co.uk] if anyone is interested.
I was prepared to dismiss this post and poster off-hand, but I'm glad I actually read this admittedly good piece of satire. Kudos, sir - you've got a gift. That said, Total Badass is right, and a satire disclaimer might be in order. Sad, I know, but sometimes subtlety can mislead.

I didn't want to ruin all the fun... but I think the thread title ALONE isn't enough to scare anyone away from the game now, consider it edited! :D

hehe n1 :)
See? Now it's perfect! :D

You went from a misleading title to one that hooks the reader and makes them want to find out exactly what prompted the outburst (without tipping your hand in the process.) This is now one of the best pieces of criticism I've seen, and well worth the giggle.
ha! sucked me in completely
Well yes.

Old DK fan here eying this one up.

Yes I take on board the criticism of the negative title but I actually clicked on it due to that for a devil advocates view. And guess what this and the marvellously informative biscuit video have actually sold me on this game. So well done!

DK lives!
I'll have you know that I wantd to punch you until I was halfway through the text.
I know, it's a zinger! And with the click-bait title, it works even better.
HAAAAAAAAA its funny cause Dungeon Keeper mobile sucks.
lol nice
If EA was a game it would be Dungeon Keeper mobile, it captures the spirit and mentality of that company perfectly.
