Game Crash from loading a save game..
Hey,

I have a Heart of Gold Savegame in mission 2 and when I try to load it now I get this:

Data Access layer failed to load level (WLevel). I get back to the main menue.

After that when I exit the game I get this:

Runtime Error! R6025
- pure virtual function call


Please fix that kind of bugs.. makes the game really hard to enjoy.

Same goes for that heavy performance losses in the missions.

That's a new one for us, can you chuck us your save file on our bug tracker[brightrockgames.userecho.com].

You can find instructions on what you'll need to include and where to find save files in this article[brightrockgames.userecho.com]

Once we have that we'll do our best to look into it and get the issue resolved with you.

I'm not getting this error but every time I load a game I've saved from the Heart of Gold mission 2, the game stops responding.

A saved game that only has 2 minutes saved into Mission 2 loads up fine. But the save I am trying to load with just under 3 hours invested into it is crashing the game once the load is complete.

I now have 2 save game files that are doing this, my original saved game file that has about 3 hours played, and one from today with about 2 hours 40 minutes.

Looks like you guys have a problem since the last patch as there seems to be quite a few threads about this, and not just in the steam forums.

Hi Khan, firstly this wouldn't be the right place to post a bug report. We have a bug tracker for that which you can access here (http://brightrockgames.userecho.com/forums/1-war-for-the-overworld/)


In this case however, we're aware of the issue and have released a workaround to allow people to keep playing until it is fixed. While im not able to go into explicit details for the game I can say that I have the same runtime error. I am trying to load a 3 player skirmish map after haivng put 6 hours into the fight. Its happened every time I try to load the save of a game with more than 2 players.

Have you tried the workaround I posted above? It should resolve this issue.

Good shout on the Betas tab.

I actually did the reverse as I noticed there was a publictest hotfix available, so instead of going back to 1.4.1, I installed the hotfix version and I am now able to load into my saved games again.

Jobs a good one.

Yeah we just pushed a fix patch onto the publictest branch. Seems to be working ok?

Some weird behaviour with spirit workers from the potions not disappearing, and the sound effects for the constructs are missing.

Was that in a multiplayer game or a single player game?

Yeah we discovered this outselves earlier, the unexpected side effect of fixing another bug with spirit workers. Should be fixed soon.
