The decisions you make on pricing are just difficult to follow from the current price to the lack of sale prices.
Just put it up for $9.99 and see what happens. Undoubedly some who will buy it will come here to ♥♥♥♥♥ about something not working right, but that's Early Access for you.
Valve has trained customers to wait for 75% or even deeper discounts. 60% off is generous from that perspective. Customers have approximately 4,589 other games in their backlog so they can afford to wait till this title hits $5, and if it never will then there are still the 4,589 other games to play.
There is a difference between buying a game and then discovering that it went on sale. It was your choice and you did get to play it when you wanted, which justifies the higher price.
It's different with early access because the game hasn't been released yet. So someone who paid $25 in good faith in advance would feel cheated if the game goes on sale just to make more money for the developers.
We'll do a sale a few months after the game is released and then gladly participate in every Steam sale.
I very strongly agree with this statement (unless the sale is less a sale and more a discount for early supporters, like Lichdom) almost to the degree of buying the game right now.
Almost. Gonna check up the forums again, then decide.
Just finished fiddling with it, actually. Will probbaly be picking up the game later this weekend some morning after I get home from work. Liked what I saw, seems like the sort of text-heavy RPG I enjoy more about role-playing than roll-playing.
Anyway, am keeping an eye on for when this game is finished, as it sounds really interesting from what I've heard over the last few years!
