Installing dedicated servers

You can get the dedicated server under Steam Tools, or by running SteamCMD like this:

SteamCMD.exe +login anonymous +app_update 299310 +quit

I need help running the dedicated server. I downloaded the dedicated server files via Steam CMD into folder steamcmd. When I start the server without being logged into Steam, the server crashes. If I log into steam, then run the dedicated server, it works perfectly. Here's the cmd line that I am using:

C:\>steamcmd\steamcmd\SteamApps\common\"Serious Sam Revolution"\Bin\dedicatedserver.exe DefaultfragmatchSE

What am I missing in the command line that will allow me to run the dedicated server without being logged into Steam?

There was a problem with some outdated Steam's dll's, this should be fixed in the next patch.

If you want to know how to set it up and get one running friend me and I'll tell ya since I'm the only one running one right now. I'll tell and help test. And not make it like rocket science.

rad87gn - You talked me thru setting up a dedicated server earlier. However, I still need to be logged into steam for the dedicated server to start. I need the "true" dedicated server. It should be out soon.

The way I do it you don't. No steam required (it does use the steam accounts but still). You can restart steam or shut it down or start all you want. The dedicated server works independent of anything. Just keep it running. AND you can game on top of it. I know. I have 6+ SS dedicated servers running.
