Did anyone beat this their first time without a walkthrough??
Because I certainly didn't.

yep, got stuck for ages on the last piece of conduit and the door code though.

sure, i got stuck here and there too, but after a while i found the solution.

Just finished it without a walkthrough. Got occasionally stuck, most notably trying to find Memorious' code (was stuck on the Redlien page for ages), but I really wanted to finish this without external help, so I preservered. Sometimes, when you're stuck, it helps to get a little rest and pick up the game again the next day.

I came very close to beating it without a walkthrough. The only things I was having trouble with were 1) getting 187th to leave, and that was because I didn't realize you could right click to examine objects! So I couldn't figure out how to open a conversation option about the damage to the tower. and 2) not realizing you could go right in the first underworks area, duh! So it was meta-problems, rather than problems with the puzzles.

I'm amazed by how many people missed right-clicking. I sometimes forget that not everyone had the same childhood gaming experiences I did. :)

Well to be honest, i really had to get used to only left and right clicks after having all the nice button commands sitting at the bottom in SCUMM games, still miss those from time to time. Nontheless, it is pretty standard for over 10 years if i recall correctly, so i'm equally surprised that people don't instantly click the right mouse button in an adventure game.

Yep, I can basically map my childhood onto adventure game parsers: Sierra's AGI, Lucas's verb system, Sierra's SCI, then Revolution's two-button system. :D
Torchiest 12 JUL 2014 a las 5:26
Haha, that's the difference then. I've played almost every Sierra and LucasArts game ever made, but the two-button thing is new to me. I only just played the first Broken Sword game a couple years ago.

Wish I could boast that I beat the game on my own, but I came surprisingly (to me) close. The only two things I needed a guide for was over the kiosk entries, and over how to get the oil. I would really love to see a second one that is a bit more immersive and tough - similar to Myst.

I'm halfway thru the game (or so I'm thinking), and certainly I wouldn't be able to pass thru some puzzles without walkthrough. Yes I'm that stupid.

Done the game, but wouldn't be able to do so... without walkthrough. lol I'm so hopeless.

I had to use a walkthrough for a few things that just made no logical sense. But that's kinda how these games always are. Other than that, this game is amazing and the world incredible.

I'm so stupid and un-relaxed ... after 30 minutes of searching and thinking I need to look at a walkthrough. ;(

Ha. I don`t know if I have ever used a walkthrough as much as I used in this one. Or ok, I did use those in old sierra parser games, as at the time I wasn`t good enough at english to play them properly.

But yeah, concidering how short the game was, I had to rely on a walkthrough too many times... I usually don`t need those at all. I remember the spots still;
-No problems at the desert section. I did get stuck at "find battery using portable energy source finder" for a good while, but with clicking I all of sudden cleared that too.
-Entering the Metropol was the best moment of game! (I didn`t get stuck at this part of course..)

-Argh. I didn`t notice one of the cars has a separate "trunk" hotspot.
-Argh. I didn`t realize I could go to the right at the sewers entrance.
-Argh. I missed the keycode for the bridge. I tried 187 but it didnt work- the Primer bot should
repeat the one hint he gives (50) until you get it. I went through that hint without paying too much attention to it while in dialog, and afterwards I didn`t have any access to that.
-Argh. I didn`t spot the floating stuff in front of the factory. I wish there was a little more visible visual to show the gold chain shining or something at least. Its too similar to all the other crap in the scenery. For example, finding the crystal in the beginning was not bad, since it actually shined among the scenery in your ship, even though the hotspot was small.
-Argh. I didn`t notice the robot to the left from the Arbitor (or whatever that judgebot was) I only walked to the door and didn`t realize you could go further left. Maybe my screen was too dark too, I don`t think I would have spotted that dead bot without a walkthrough?
-Argh.I didn`t see the ripped of arm of Scrapper after I had blown him off. Maybe my screen really was too dark for the game, it was hard to see?
-The info kiosk puzzle was too much fro me. I didn`t figure the ART part or LIES part. And after failing at those I didn`t even try the rest, just read all the way to the end since I had failed so baddly already at it.

For all of those I think I used walkthrough... most of them I felt were stains in a great game with a great setting. Missing hotspots is very irritating to me in adventure games. With more time and patience, I probably would have found most of them though. The info kiosk was a bit too vague puzzle imho, it felt like an easy puzzle for a programmer, but confusing for a normal puzzle solver ^^;. For future references, I think some other Wadjet games like for example Blackwell Legacys last part, had really, really good "search the internet with keywords" -type of puzzles!

Still liked Primordia for its good original setting and atmosphere. I would buy a sequel (hopefully a bit longer!) without a hesitation.
