I have heard alot about this being a scam but i got to admit from the screenshots and videos it looks promising but i dont want to waste money please let me know if you enjoy this and werent ripped off

It's a game from a guy who used to sell unfinished games.

Only now he sells unfinished games with an ingame marketplace, so you can buy stuff in game with your real money, after you already bought the game.

Originally he promised a 400 squre kilometer game world with 250 player servers. "Even with 200 players on the server, you'll only bump into other players every 15 minutes." However their only map Colorado is so small, that when WarZ raised the player limit to 70 per server, even the most fanatical fans demanded refunds, because the map is so small, players were trampeling eachother to death.

Right now their servers can supposedly hold 50 players and the size of the map is somewhere between 10-30 square kilometers. WarZ just randomly said 400km^2 and 250 players because it sounded impressive, but their War Inc. game engine could never deliver this in the first place.

The thing thats stupidest about the in game market plae is you pay for real things that make no change to your damage or your resistance to damage or anything and you end up losing it in 5 minutes anyway so its an impossibly large waste of money!

what makes it a scam is the fact that when you die you lose what is in your inventory and have to acquire it again, either by finding it, trading it or buying it.

so watch out most of you are going to be buying over and over again stuff just to stay alive, like food and ammo and that will add up to a good number of micropayments each months!

so its sort of hidden monthly fee

so what makes it a scam is the fact that you paid for the game up front, its more of a free to play model, and you will be be tempted to buy food and ammo and bandages, ect just to stay alive.

sort of like in an arcade you had to keep putting in quarters to keep on playing the video game.

M8 those screenshots are actually fake. They mislead people into thinking the game is actually like that. It's not.
If you're after a game that has a lot of potential, check out dead linger. It's still in early alpha, though it looks promising and the devs actually appear competent and communicate with the community. They had a kickstarter campaign, though I missed it unfortunately.

go in with the knowledge that it is still in early early early alpha stage.

it is on build 005a, and they plan on releasing build 006 Jan 1st or so, with a whole lot more world generated stuff.

"World generation is getting a complete overhaul. Here's what to expect in 006, in that regard:

1) Better framerate.

2) Farmland, towns, and forests, all much better and with more stuff in them, and more detail. (Fences, yards, barns, cornfields, foliage, etc.)

3) The start of cities.

4) Multi-story buildings (at least up to 5 story office buildings)

5) Large grocery stores

6) Another large building type, if it makes it into 006 in time. :) Guess away!"

Bear in mind that it will change a lot between now and release, especially the graphics, so don't let the videos put you off the game. It's unusual for a game to be sold, so early in the alpha stage, but I guess it could be exciting to see how the game changes thoughout the development process. I only just found out about the game, but it does promising. In 006 they plan to start adding cities, large grocery stores, fences, foilage and changes to road layout. Basically the patch is focused on world generation.

agreed, most graphics right now are just placeholders for functionality and generation seeding testing.

i guess we all have our favorite thing that makes it a scam ;)

the thing is there is are lots of things people can cite. from the false advertising list of features, to charging for an alpha, to the microtransactions, to the banning people who play the game to get them to buy it again, to having the developers kill players to get them to buy stuff, to them giving out special weapons and shields to their friends to do the same, to it being a ripoff of dayz, to it being a 6m old mod of warz, to the alphabet soup of shell companies, to the mods cursing out their customers, to the fake screenshots, to them having plans to shutdown the game in 6m if sales are not good enough, to the use of copyrited images and music, ect. the list is long pick your favorite(s) or add to the list.

Did they seriously do that? killing players so they had to buy stuff from the store? How would the devs know that a player would immediately buy something from the store anyway?
That's just low. This game clearly is a scam.
