War Z death upon respawning of character

Loaded up one of my characters that I havent played for awhile that has the Large backpack and the night vision goggles and a ♥♥♥♥ load of loot, no infection either. So yeah I load up my character and he suddenly dies straight away without anything near him, what the ♥♥♥♥ is wrong with this game...

in populated servers people camp respaw spots, and you die before you even see yourself inside the game world.

I was in a private server and there was no one in it though.
