Hacker got his hands on players info

So aparently some hacker got his hands on the info of The War Z players...... This includes, e-mails, passwords (that should be encrypted or were but they still got them), account names and stuff like that.

Can steam just....remove this damn game from steam? It is like... I am completely regrethfull of giving those guys my money. I would give my money faster to a damn drug dealer than to them if I knew how it was going to be in the first place!

So please, think a little more about this damn game steam! I dont know what was in your mind to let such a scam and such a lame game to get in this game platform..... seriously think about this. This was the last drop! A hacker has tons of passwords and e-mails! Thanks to this damn game! And you cant change your password in the game, because the hacker would just take it again! SEW THIS ♥♥♥♥♥♥ GUYS FFS!

Sorry to inform you, most of us have reached the conclusion that as long as Steam is generating revenue from TWZ and it keeps climbing higher up the top sellers list, it's gonna stay in the store. Gamers don't seem to care either, as long as servers are up who cares what info the hackers got or when the next attack will be... pew-pew fun is more important >.>

I want to start by saying that I am a supporter of Warz and I play it in its current state. That being said, I am starting to agree that steam should not offer it. There are to many problems with this game for it to be worthy of being sold on steam. I am in no way hating on the game, I just think they need to wait for a more stable version before they sell it through 3rd party distributors, until then, only offer it on the website where people who want to play will seek it out, that way people dont end up with something other than what they expected.

They got every single password of all accounts. The passwords being encrypted doesn't really mean anything unless they're using a good algorithm combined with a salt. MD5 is rubbish.

As many randomized characters of as many character sets as possible. I'd use more than 16 but that's the limit for a whole lot of places. And you never know if one allows high ANSI characters. 3ÂêUÞ̸èñËNRh¥Œ™

lol you care to prove this? No you can't and you don't know what you're talking about you don't even know how passwords are obtained and how they're stored and seriously doubt you even know what type of encryption was implemented. *facepalm go away and stop defending this game until you actually provide proof of your claims. This is everything they have accessed..

The data accessed included email addresses used to log-in to the forum, forum passwords which they encrypt are taken, email addresses used to log-in to the game,encrypted game passwords,in-game character names, IP addresses from which players log-in to the forum and to the game, If you posted other information to the forum it is likely that such data was accessed as well.

I wouldn't be surprised if they even have your newly changed password, the "BEST" you can do is change your password information but they might even have that because they're still looking into the matter and from what updated information I've read on the ragezone forums is that the files are being released for the game, and Sergey and Kwek are clueless about everything that is going on and don't know what to do. This is what I've gathered from reading what these hackers are doing right now. Files are already on a mirror links for download. Just saying, I don't really think it matters if you're changing your password or not just don't be surprised if your global inventory is wiped clean.

It's like...it is not because it was made by russians, comon, that is a bit racist :S It is about being made by irresponsible lame ass money ungry ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, that is why it is a ♥♥♥♥♥ game and that's why this is happening.....

the thing here is not about loosing the game account, damn I dont ♥♥♥♥♥♥ care anymore about my stuff in the game! It is about hackers having our information and e-mail! They can do whatever they want with our stuff! I know because I already witnessed some crazy stuff! It is as easy as to take a pen and brake it in half....

And even if they cant access some of our stuff they can just corrupt it and get it deleted or destroyed! Ffs it is not about loosing a damn boring ♥♥♥♥♥ game, it is about all the things you have online!

Russian is not a race, it is a nationality. The majority of people living in the former Soviet Nations are primarily Caucasian (a race).
