Why not free to play?

After see everything the game has to offer while watching a friend play. There is an ingame store in which you use real money to buy things to help ingame. This is something you would see in a free to play game. You can pay money to get back ingame faster.(fully unfair if you ask me, a spawn camper, maybe a dev(not saying they do but easy money right?) could srew you so bad and that is the point it is to off for a game you pay for.

It's already infested with hackers. Making it f2p would make no difference.

how would they make money to run the servers and do developments, and pay for other things

are we to buy hats and weapons and ammo sort of like tf2?

i prefer as is since i dont pay anymore. i bought the game no need to put in a quarter each time i have to play..

stil i do like tf2 and i do buy hats and some stuff cause i want to run around like a viking. so are we going to have vikings running around in kilts with big hammers.

what i really like to see is dedicated server files so people can host their own unranked servers, but then i guess that would mean increase in price to offset loss revenue form server rentals...

and that would also split the community into 2 pools ranked/unranked...

it sort of balance. keeping the game affordable makes it so we always have lots of new players coming in since its dirt cheap $3.75 on sale.. and they have lots of sales

if they switch more to marketplace it would make it more pay to win... which is what happens with many f2p.. valve can always take money from steam sales and other stuff to pay for tf2, they cant...

100% agree there and its always the same "havent been playing for months and now im perma banned".

Not 100% sure. I do know they were around on external websites and such.

Haha yeah dident he state they dident even exist ;) Oh you wrote that already. But i think i heard some dude on a stream saying that it was why some ppl had to change their pass. A man hate to use secondhand knowlege gonna look into it.

Ye but most stolen accounts got locked since they got new account protection and theyr reseeted passwords for all accounts

Yeah the password reset was the best thing they ever did.

But there are still hackers rampant. I can guarantee you that you will still run into a fair amount of them

Yeah think so too but well im somewhat secure on my private server and got zero tolerance for hackers/pvp'ers so im not that affected by the whole deal but yeah i still hear from time to time that hackers have attacked a server looted all then left.

So the coin people have talked about can be got ingame. This is about a plus from what I have heard but depending on the rate you get them this could still lead the game to be a free to play model with a pay in fee. About what is the standard rate of finding these coins? Does every zombie drop a few? Does killing another player get me their coins? Do I need to drop them off in order to keep them after dieing?

Yes but why go through the trouble of wasting items that you can't find to kill broken zombies so you can get the occasional $35 GD for items that cost thousands in the marketplace, when you can just buy GC and convert it to GD and buy everything in a few minutes.

Makes sense to me.

Yeah but thats just one option i was merely saying that you dident have to "buy/convert" GC there are nothing left to buy in the marketplace that costs GC. I only use it when i need to renew the server and get the premium account. And sure you can kill a zombie 2 wacks to the head with a hatchet and your golden ;)

Oh I know it isn't forced upon you at all. But when you have broken things like zombies, degradation/repair and loot, you really start having a hard time getting much of anything and quite often contemplate spending even $5 for GC that you can use to buy items in the marketplace without going through the trouble.
