Bug report: unfair claim to fan geyser
I've noticed several times, playing as Ironheade against Tainted Coil, that the enemy could claim a geyser even when I'm standing on it with my troops there. In fact, I play the tribute solo just as he does, finish mine provably first, and yet he gets the geyser. I thought the rule was that if the enemy avatar is near the geyser with you, nobody could claim it.

I've seen this on console too, I remember this happening on console way back at release in 2009. Were you playing an AI practice match? I think the bots are just allowed to cheat, it's really unfair.

Another example of what I mean: If I'm building a fan tribute, if the bot swoops in before I finish, it's cancelled. All he has to do is get near. If the bot starts a tribute solo, I can't do a thing to stop it even if I'm hacking away at him. Really unfair unless you wipe out the enemy leader at every chance you get.

I have really never seen this problem on console or pc against bots this is really weird maybe I should test it multiple times.

FYI, the first level ranged units (Razor Girls, Frightwigs, and Punishing parties) all have an attack range that is outside the contest zone for fan geysers.

Are you sure this wasn't the case? I know I've personally snagged a fan geyser or two because my enemy didn't actually move his troops in close enough.

edit: this is why you should send them to a beacon near a geyser, instead of telling them to attack the leech directly.

I'm not entirely sure. So you're saying an avatar all by himself can't cockblock your tribute solo?

That's correct. If an avatar on its own could block it, it would be too easy to just follow the enemy avatar around early in the match and stall the whole thing for ages.
