Don't be rude, the developers have been contracted to another project at the moment.

As for the OP, you're not still on the Beta branch are you?
My laptop's copy of Megaton is stuck to the beta branch, and I cannot shut it off.

Seems to be a solution in the last post of this thread http://steamcommunity.com/app/225140/discussions/0/540739860842345761/ But I can't say I have tried it personally.

Rude like duke bro. Im tired of seeing the posts about Updates everyweek when there never are any. We should have had client servers by now. but it's too much of a overhaul in coding for you guys to handle. and its the truth, dont sugar coat it. Me and other guys who have programming experience all agree this to be true. otherwise it would have been done for some time now. and it CAN be done. its just ALOT of work... Let's not forget all the stupid little bugs that has yet to be fixed. Like consistent crashing after downloading a map. Or game shutting down if waiting in game lobby for X amount of time. Or Flat out crashing. And we all know about the ♥♥♥♥♥♥ p2p connections and terrible laggy games due Distance and Connection Quality with International games. hmm I would like to beable to get a Screen shot at the end of a game??? Nope thats another bug. Shall i continue? we'll get an update when the lazy developers decide to hop on it. Also we want Auto Aim Toggle. How many times we gotta ask? Get on it or ill keep bashing yall everytime im in a bad mood and see another dumb "Update?" post. :duke:

I think you need to calm down and word your responses better to be honest.

The game isn't abandoned, like I said the developers have been contracted to do another project at the moment and are going to return to this game when they are done (which I hear is a month away now). I'm not saying Megaton is perfect and you make 'some' points about stuff that needs to be fixed but they simply can't work on it right now.

Well I think the game is fine the way it is, not perfect but I guess you can't please everyone. At least we got some kind of working multiplayer. Still Lunick thanks for responding you're a great person I'm sure, sorry you got insulted over nothing. That's how a job is Doobie if your being contracted to work on something else you don't really have a choice unless you want to look for another job. Still eventually I'm sure they will patch it up. :beatmeat:

If the developers worked on Megaton Edition as part of a contract and they have moved on to another project, then everyone should know that further maintenence of Megaton Edition has not been contracted yet. For them to come back and work on it further, they need to be contracted to work on it after they are done with their other contract. They are not the original developer of the game and they do not have any obligation to continue lifetime maintenence unless that was specifically part of the deal. And no one does that kind of a deal.

That being said, Devolver might contract them again because they did a good job. What really needs to happen for this game to get client/server architecture is that *Devolver needs to contract someone specifically to implement client/server multiplayer*.

Theres several factors that go into making a choice like that, and even though I love this game, even I don't really think there is any financial benefit to it. The only thing Devolver has to gain or lose is reputation of being the people that did or did not implement new multiplayer architecture to satisfy the wishes of a game community. They're super awesome if they do, but I woudln't care if they don't. This isn't an insult to them, but not even the fans behind eDuke32 would not want to handle this multiplayer mess.

duke3d is waiting ages to have a stable netcode, tons of dukers just dont even know to be dukers and will never be and that is sad. Still in my opinion nobody can be able to put together a netcode faster than what we have, simply because the original netcode is not commented and is light like air. (5kbps per user, but buggy outside lan or behind slow connections). This is a wanted call for a fight, in case u cant fix the code, i just wait for you to get fragged in a loop till morning: for the few lucky people who just want to play duke since they had a lan where to enjoy this fastness. :) come on!
