Store Front Suspended Temporarily

Dear Community,

Today we requested that the Folk Tale store front be temporarily suspended. Players continue to have access to the game in their Steam libraries.

Within the last few months we’ve been hit by internal issues that have significantly reduced the pace of development. Having got this far with the project, we are working on a resolution so that development can return to normalcy by the end of the year.

Thank you for your patience while we work through this challenging time.

Why would you not respond? another year? people were ready to sue you for fraud? All this could have been prevented had you been up front with the community you have said numerous times that Folk Tale is funded to completion. The community just wants legit answers thats all. You dont just quit responding for 4 months and expect no backlash. Maybe we should really find out if Folk Tale is indeed funded how bout you suspend sales untill the game is released to indeed show the community this project is truely funded as you have claimed? Are you up for the challenge?

Dude get over yourself. Any EA or Alpha project has risk of never "finishing". You fund the project or you don't, understanding this. If you have never been burnt by an EA project I get the butt hurt. Yet time to grow up. Either stop funding EA or adjust your expectations.

Btw just because they are "funded till completion", doesn't mean they can't have unexpected staffing problems. Small teams especially are at extra risk for feeling staffing pains.

thanks for the news but, the game will be launched or not? more 2 years to finish? with the normal pace when was the deadline? just to keep the dream alive plz

im happy to see that the game is not abandoned, but i hope for it to become 100% complete (more or less) in the near future of this year as promised in the early access tab on the steam store. either way im happy to see that it's still being worked on and please keep that community updated on its status.

i find it a little funny and a little sad that a game ive been keeping an eye on starts to have problems
i guess its part of having early access games
Tug had the same thing but i guess it was their own choice from changing to a different engine
might just play rise of ruins when i feel like city building til someone gets it right

Does anyone here actually believe this will be finished? I think its good that the store page is to be taken down but lets face it, no contact for months then this. Essentially they may carry on developing around christmas. Yes right, course. No chance. 6 months is essentially writing it off and giving time for people to forget so you can restart another project afterwards. The signs have been there for ages (if you didnt have blinkers on), due for release year after year, yes regular updates (good) but yet nowhere near a standard for the amount of time spent on them.

Lets get real here, this will never be finished despite whether you like the game so far (i do). The "post good reviews or development will cease" comment recently proved the game will never be finished, it resulted in an influx of bad reviews and then surprise surprise communication ceased until this announcement. This wasnt the first time that threat had been made either.

Small, inexperienced team is no excuse, plenty of others have managed it. Since the start this project has lacked focus and vision. Great ideas let down by lack of significant updates.

As of now Folk Tale has itself become a folk tale. A game that promised so much and will now never be.

If you take any kickstarter that did this same route, they always say they will finish in a later time, then a year later its dead and abandoned this will be the same mark my words.
