OFFICIAL: NMRiH Steam Trading Cards
:nmrih:

Recently, there has been much speculation and misinformation spread about Trading Cards in these forums. We’d like to clear up some of this confusion and explain exactly what happened.

As you all know, trading card drops currently happen via two methods. For paid games, purchasing the game will grant a certain amount of free drops. This amount is determined by taking the total amount of cards in a game’s set and dividing it in half. For free games, you get approximately one drop per $9.00 spent in the game’s store. This model works well for most free games as they have costly in game content, however that is not the case in No More Room in Hell. We have no micro-transactions, and you can’t buy a free game. That leaves us with no mechanism to drop cards.

Some of you have also noticed that some people got 4 free drops. These 4 drops were only distributed to beta testers who activated a beta code. This was an unintended side effect of our steam beta testing program. In addition, all users who craft a badge, or activated a beta code are eligible to receive booster packs. These packs are dropped when another user crafts the badge.

When Valve develops a method for dropping cards in completely 100% free games, we will be eligible to have card dropping turned back on. If anyone has any suggestions for ways to do this, simply post them in the comments below.

Maybe it could work like the winter trading cards? Where you can get cards only if you are steam level 5 or higher. (I reached steam level 5 right after that event ended...) I hope that would impede double accounts and whatever from earning free cards, unless they've got something invested in the account. I imagine you would get 4 cards, just like with normal games.

Possibly the best solution.

I read a topic about Steam thinking about giving trading card booster packs at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% game completions, that might be a good solution for NMRiH.

You mean achievements? That's a terrbile idea - SAM is still at large and it doesn't look like Steam people can do anything about it. So far min. lvl requirement seems like the best solution.

Problem is, some people want to get a higher level in Steam without having to pay for 40 games, spend days on forums trading cards and awaiting for community to craft badges to have a slim chance of a booster pack.
Maybe it will be legit only for games that are bought, but NMRiH... only way I see as a good one is badge crafting booster packs.

Maybe people who complete The Manhattan Project will recieve a card.... Considering Valve is able to get badges up for NMRIH, I'd still play either way xD

Objection, it is not a good idea you know cheat users with SAM (all achievements in one day, same time).
Because not require time in the game, 30 to 50 hours? must be a nice way and valid for everyone.

Damn Valve... Why?
Because Lord Gaben wants more monies. It's also good as an idea though, at least for F2P games. Counting 35% of games bought aren't even played that might boost this number down too.

keep the way it is

Maybe make a way to pay in this game? It's a good game and sometimes I feel like throwing money at these guys. Not sure what to pay for :P

^Same here, I looked for a donate feature for like an hour xD

Maybe NMRIH should not be F2P game. Make price like 5€, get some money and give us treading cards.

(Commence argument) Why not $5? Dollars are better anyways!
