Framerate cap 59 FPS - Constant judder
This situation is sad. The game is limited to 59 fps which produces a frame skip every second. It's horrible. The coalesced.ini file contains two entries for maxsmoothedframerate variable, but his value is 30 and changing it does not affect the game. When game is running videos, the framerate is unlocked, but during the gameplay, the framerate is locked to 59 ruining the experience.

I hope a developer can expose the reason for this limitation that is not beneficial to anyone. The game has judder on 60hz screens and can not display properly on screens at 120 hz.

If someone thinks he can help I will be happy to listen. But please not try to justify the decision of the game, or explain what vsync is. This thread is about locked framerate into the game, regardless of everything else.

Things I've tried:

Changing bSmoothFramerate in Coalesced.ini
Changing Vsync:1 value in registry for MaxSmoothedFramerate:62
Searching for 60 or 59 value into memory using CheatEngine 6.3 and ArtMoney 7.4
Using Maximum Pre-rendered Frames = 1,2,3,4,5,6 and 7
Using SLI, tri-SLI and single gpu.
Using DXOverrider
Using DXTory
Using Fullscreen and Windowed mode
Using Custom resolution @ 50 hz to force 50 fps through registry with "Width:1920 Height:1150 Fullscreen:1" (game changes resolution at startup to next 60hz available)

Workaround:

* Enter nvidia control panel and create a new custom resolution at 59 hz. For example, 1920x1079@59hz (in my case, 2880x1799 for downsampling in a 16:10 monitor)

* Winkey + R and "regedit"

* Search for HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Activision\Deadpool

* Edit ScreenResolution with new resolution. For example

Width:1920 Height:1079 Fullscreen:1

* Start game and load a savegame.

* After loading screen, game will reset resolution to nearest 60 hz in resolution list.

* Pause game, return to main menu and enter screen options.

* Now, new 59hz resolution will be visible in resolution list. Select it.

* Load game and you'll play at 59hz-59fps completely smooth.

I have tried using a custom resolution and it does not help. Like most UTE games, it is the frame rate smoother that is capping it. But does anyone know if there is another location other than the one in the game folder that is saved? It does not seem like it uses that file for the settings...

If it doesn't help you, you're doing something wrong.

BTW, Deadpool is dead in the steam pool. Double sad.

If what doesn't help me? I'm confused... I can set whatever hertz I want through RadeonPro. Plus it seems that you're assuming everyone owns an Nvidia card.

I don't want a fix for making it smoother, I want to run it at whatever fps my system can handle. Pretty simple.

Workaround I posted is only a fix for Deadpool judder in 60 hz monitor for people that use vsync ON (because don't like tearing).

You said:

I'm talking about that custom resolution. Yes, it helps, because avoid 59 fps cap judder. And no, it's not frameratesmoother what's limiting framerate. If it was frameratesmoother, videos will be limited to that framerate too. That variable in UE works in a general way.

Someone let me know of a fix that uses launch parameters. I used it for 144Hz and it seems to work just fine: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Deadpool#Video_settings

Use this as a launch parameter:

-silent FPS=60

If you're still getting judder, try disabling v-sync in-game and forcing through your graphics card drivers.
