Miner Wars won't start *Fixed*

I downloaded the demo a while ago and when I tried to play the game, it went to a black screen and then crashed saying "Miner Wars has stopped responding" and then it's gone...
Recently a friend gifted me the full game but the same thing happens. How can I fix this?

Edit* It seems that this game dislikes the function of nVidia 3D... I just disabled 3D and vualla, smooth sailing
