Options include separate sliders for music and sound, full-screen/Windowed, wide-screen, tips on or off, and a handy ? button which will give you an easy-to-understand guide on how the game works.

At the beginning of each Wonder you will have a choice of difficulty: Zen (untimed), Normal, Advanced, and Insane.

Most of us know how match-3 games work, so I'll skip to some specifics. Each Wonder has 7+ levels of basic swap-to-match gameplay, but with the addition of gathering resources to help build your Wonder. A cornerstone will appear when you've cleared all of the tiles on the board, and the level will end when that stone reaches the bottom of the game board. Gameplay on each Wonder does not end until you've collected and placed all of the building materials, which means that you'll need to collect the specified amount of resources per level (tracked at the top of the screen) in order to finish with a four-star rating (higher rating = more coins to spend - back to that later). Building the Wonder itself can be done by manually clicking where you want the resources to go, or you can click on the "place all" button.

In addition, there are "colored cells" to collect during each Wonder. To collect, simply make a match of the matching color over the top of the cell. Gathering all of the cells will send you into a minigame where you have to drag-to-match gems in order to clear a path for your workers. Doing so will gain you BLUEPRINTS, which will unlock new buildings for your city.

Ahh, I haven't mentioned the city yet. There are multiple items to unlock whilst playing, including new buildings (see above), trophies (special decorations), and decorations that can be purchased with coins. You have the freedom to choose where items are placed - to a point. When you select an item, circles will appear on the screen showing you when you can add them.

Some of the buildings you unlock by finding blueprints will give you new mini-games to play... and completing all of the mini-games in those buildings will earn you a special decoration or new power-ups to use whist you're playing the main build-a-wonder gameplay!

Buildings with mini-games:

• Research Lab - Slide a block around to collect all of the stones. There are traps built in, but you can easily re-set the board and start over. Prize: Special decoration
  
• Diamond Mine - Ever played RSVP The Dinner Party Game[www.flasharcade.com]? It's kind of like that, except that you're matching colors and/or shapes. I really enjoyed these mini's, as they're challenging, but not impossible. Prize: Each level you complete gains you a new Power-up!

Power-ups:

• Vertical Beam - destroy a whole column
  
• Color Annihilator - destroy all blocks of the color you choose
  
• Space Eater - Will eat random blocks on the board
  
• Laser Cutter - Slash blocks of your choosing
  
• Singled Out - Will remove any one block and/or collect a colored cell for you without having to match over it
  
• Teleport - Exchange any two blocks
  
• X Tesla - X-shaped blast from your chosen point of origin
  
• Nova Bomb - blast a 3x3 area

There are 26 in-game / Steam achievements, and while two of them were grindy, they didn't take that long once I switched to Zen mode. That's right... Perfect game #14 for genkicoll. XD There is also an in-game hi-score board for the competitive members of your household.

This is an entertaining title with various mechanics to break up the gameplay and keep you from losing interest... Not to mention nice the Wonders look when they're completed! Definitely recommended to match-3 fans :D

This game is very entertaining and relaxing, with outstanding graphics and soundtrack. While gameplay is simple enough and easy to learn, it still provides an enjoyable experience.

The only improvement for me is the difficulty; even in "Insane" mode, I beat all levels with more than half time left.

Great game to have for bejeweled game lovers and achievement hunters.

I have a new found love / respect for Mumbo Jumbo in general. After playing this game and a few others from an Indie Royale bundle I'd say these games are definitely worth it. There's a couple of 7 Wonders games but this particular one is a lot better looking visually than the others and there are a lot of minigames in between the main 'match 3' puzzle style. I'd even go so far to say that this game rivals Bejeweled and other games of this type. With varying difficulty levels and achievements this is definitely a game you can pick up an hour or two and play.

Match 3 or more in a row, matching 4 or more gives a bonus token that will clear rows or random tiles. The object of the game is to clear the background of the board, when you done that a special tile appears and you have to get that to the bottom of the board. As you progress through the game you unlock different mini-games along the main puzzles, you build a town and decorate it. There is a Zen, Normal, Advanced and Insane difficulty setting. The graphics are nice and the music is relaxing. It's a nice casual game.

This game is really addicting, fun, and challenging! There are mini-games to play, goals to meet, and time to beat. But there is a Zen mode also. I think it's worth the money! I bought all the games from Mumbo Jumbo which includes Toy Soldiers, Luxor, Midnight Mysteries, Zombie Bowl-O-Rama, Glowfish and every game made by them is remarkably enjoyable and heartwarming. I do hope they keep coming up with such colorful games. If you love matchmaking and match-3 games like bejeweled or candy crush, there's no doubt you are going to dance in joy once you play this one.

Fun game, but kind of laggy on Windows 10. 8/10.

7 Wonders: Ancient Alien Makeover is the 5th game in the 7 Wonders franchise developed by MumboJumbo. It's a basic match-three in which you match the tiles to collect resources in order to build the wonders of the world.

Pros:
-Easy and simple to get into, with levels of varying difficulty so those that just want to relax can and those who want more of a challenge have it
-First 7 Wonders game to have Steam Achievements, which are relatively easy to obtain as well, but they do take some time.
-Graphically this game is superior to its precusors
-Minigames added are fun and add some more playtime to the game

Cons:
-Can not delete save game, so the game has no replay value at all
-At it's usual price of R109(~$10), it feels overpriced.

Pick it on a sale if you enjoy a good match-three and don't worry about replaying the game.

'Been there, done that', but this Match 3 game is surely satisfying with all the power-ups, and for the variation they added 3 interesting mini-games; though, one of which was too luck-based ...

8/10 -- It can't beat Green Valley: Fun on the Farm = recommended as well, if you want to try a Match 3 game.

This match 3 game is definitely my favorite in the 7 Wonders series and is probably in between my favorite match 3 games that I have played overall. It is a good fun and I don't really have any complains about it.

In One word: Mind-numbing.

In between Silent Storm and Deus Ex I wanted something light that I could play while watching sports and doing other activities. This one filled that spot. I liked it better than the previous games I played in the series, as the maps seemed a bit harder. But still, it wasn't overly difficult or engaging. Do I recommend it? Perhaps, lightly, if you are in the right mood.
