Help nothing hapens after I hit play!

When I press play on the launch screen I get a little loading image appers next to the mouse for a second and then nothing happens. On the internet it says it,s because I have windows 8. I have tried changing every thing in the options menu but nothing I tried will work. Next did what it sead in teach suport but I dont have a compatibility tab. Nothing I tried has worked, If anyone has had the same problem I could use the help.

did u go to the steam place when u right clicked or was it just of the desktop

my did the same thing just it wont load it goes to a loading screen then stops

I just fixed the problem by downloading and signing up for games for windows marketplace for free and then when i press play it works without any problems.
