Import Tool: What if I buy Rocksmith 1 DLC now?
I was just wondering: will the import tool import DLC tracks when I buy them now as well? I want to buy the Rocksmith 1 Foo Fighters DLC pack, because I will play a few of those on bass with my band, but I'm not sure if this will transfer them to Rocksmith 2014 as well.

Anybody tried, or know if this will work?

Thanks! :)

I think the only tracks you have to worry about are the original in game tracks. DLC should work for both games. Correct me if I'm wrong...

Oh, the DLC your talking about are not showing up on DLC 2014? I had rs1 and did the transfer. Now that you mention it when i get in 2014 DLC i dont see any of the RS1 DLC so that is a good question. Even though I purchased some DLC it still shows in DLC store and if i were to try and purchase RS says its already in library so.... in theory all RS1 stuff should show in 2014 DLC unless you need rs1 for that DLC which is weird. Sorry man, i think i understand the question which is a good one. Sorry i am absolutely no help other then what i see on screen.

If you own RS1 and have activated it on Steam then all RS1 DLC that you buy will import automatically into RS2014. For the RS1 DLC you don't even need the import tool you only need to have activated RS1 on Steam. The RS1 DLC works on both Mac and PC RS2014.

The RS1 DLC does not show up in the Steam store under RS2014 but it does show up in the in game store and in the song lists.

Also they say they are working on a fix so that you don't even have to own RS1 in order to buy/use RS1 DLC in RS2014. I've not heard they have fixed it yet though.

And finally, the import tool is needed ONLY for importing songs from the RS1 disc. It has nothing to do with DLC.

Thanks! That's exactly the answer I was looking for!

Then I'm going to wait a few days and get the DLC from Rocksmith 1 if there is no hot-fix for Rocksmith 2014 at that time. I guess they wouldn't lower the DLC prices once they become available in the Rocksmith 2014 DLC store, right? Or would they...?

Steam usually runs sales on games and DLC eventually. Just a matter of how long you are willing to wait.

Rocksmith the game went on a 66% off sale at one point, I think, but I only ever saw the DLC go down by 33%. That's like getting everything in one big pack, though!
