Hope they haven't lost interest, im throwing money @ my screen ;D
I sent them an email to ask about it. Will report back. If we could get early access to the beta, it might be fun to kick around. That sim is friggin brilliant.
CMon devs bring it to steam ;D
I sent them an e-mail last month asking about the beta, and sent them a tweet last week asking about progress on the linux port. Zero responses on either.
Personally I'm starting to lose hope that it'll happen any time soon based on their lack of responses.
They announced a linux version in september 2012.
No new updates until January where they were "almost finished"
I assume the next announcment or release will be around April or Late Late March.
Mabey they take too long but I really want ETS 2 for linux. I got Diablo 2, AOE 2, DOOM and san andreas and WoW Working NATIVELY in wine (right click -> openwithwine -> woot) ETS2 is the only pain in the ass to get working.
Hope the port comes soon!

But it's on my wishlist, and since it will be available for Linux, I'm almost there :)
Screw that!
Worth that money. Its not SimCity.
A truck simulator ain't worth $40. Besides wasn't it like $20 normally?
