Karbonite
The karbonite detector doesn't want to show me concentrations of karbonite! Even from the ground!

I haven't yet got to it. Are you sure it isn't SCANSAT-based?

Checked the zipped files. It looks like the KA-001 is based on SCANSAT tech. You should put it into a polar orbit, preferably of a certain attitude - check in the VAB - and wait for it to complete several revolutions. At that point you should have both a visual map of the orange hotspots (displayed somehow) and the ability to toggle resource concentration display in the SCANSAT map. Of course, having a SCANSAT map also requires that mod's radar satellites.

Dunno. It's not listed as requisite, and the orange dots the forum page depicts are displayed on the map. Does the mod add a toolbar app?
