New game+ and factions?
Hey so I was just wondering if, when you start a new game on the next difficulty, does your faction reputation reset? or is it just all the quest, while still keeping for an example the 'honored' reputation with a faction?
Or does it all just reset and you have to gain reputation anew?

I'm wondering this as I've finished it on the normal veteran difficulty, and still have some faction quests, and I'm unsure if I should do the last ones I can before upping the difficulty.

Thanks.

It does not reset.

Do the quests reset then, the faction quests I mean?
Thanks.

all quests inc. fraction are reset you can even change your decisions (fraction join, blacksmith, outcasts)
The quests in Normal stay the same but you begin Elite with all quests available again.

Thanks for the info guys.

So, let me clarify this since I am about to go to Elite so I want to make sure.
Once I enter Elite I go there with the same factions reputation I have now. So the factions reputation you have reached in Normal carry over to the next difficulty? Is that correct?

I also have another related question: when I start a new game with my existing character, do I lose all my items and recipes I've acquired? Do I have to move everything to the smuggler stash?

RyerStar, that is indeed the case. If you decide to change factions in Elite (as you will be represented with the choice again, f.e. Kyomon's Chosen, the Outcast in Fort Ikon vs Black Legion), you will start with the reputation you left off with. That means if you were deep into hatred levels for Kyomon's Chosen, you will have to work your way up all the way from hated to revered.

CDR_Bond, if by items, you mean, the black smith crafteable items, then no. All your recipes carry over to your new character. So you can start crafting legendaries on your new character assuming you found the recipe on a previous character.

I started on Elite and can confirm that you keep all the reputation.

Also just to add once a Character reaches Revered level faction he can then buy the 100% faction certificates and place them in his shared chest so new character can use the certificate and make use of the faster reputation bonus.

@Squidcake:

Thank you very much for the thorough info, very useful.

Now I have another question about the achievement "Reach Revered reputaion with 6 factions". How is this achieveable? If I have reached revered with say Order of Death's Vigil faction and now I choose to side with Kymon's Chosen this will make the Order my enemies and while my reputation with Kymon's Chosen will go up the one with the Order will start to erode, right?

Then how exactly am I to get along with all 6 factions?

And what about the Chthonians? Are they at odds with any of the other factions? If I kill them which one of the allied factions benefits from that? Now if I kill undeads I gain reputation with the Rovers. But when I kill Chthonians I don't get any message for gaining reputation with anyone.
1. Ch'thonians are at odd with Kymon's Chosen and The Outcast.
2. The 6th Faction is the Outcast, who you'll encounter at Fort Ikon and be given a choice to kill or help. Obviously, killing her will not help you get that achievemnet.

Thank you. I know about the Outcasts but Black Legion are at odds with the Outcast faction and my reputation with the Black Legion goes up when I kill outcasts. So, if I side with the Outcasts my reputation with Black Legion will start to erode. Same goes for Order of Death's Vigil/Kymon's Chosen.

How am I to combine my allied factions in order to unlock the achievement?
Black Legion don't turn hostile even if you side with the Outcast. You'll only get like -200 rep or something like that, nothing a bounty or two couldn't fix.
And it's Outcast, not Outcasts. There's only one of her. And while killing her help you get BL rep quicker, that also exclude you from nice, nice items and augments and the awesome quest chain that the Outcast offers.

Thank you.

Sorry for the mistake, I thought their faction was The Outcasts.

Not entirely true. Each quest you do for the Oucast erodes your reputation with the Black Legion. So, the more friendly you become with the Outcast the more your reputation with the Black Legion goes down. I have just experienced this.
I made a mistake siding with her :(
