Is there a way to reduice the graphics settings?

Pretty much says it all in the title, I play this during my slow times at work on a crappy dell craptop. I just got the yellow gun and when I use middle click, the game pretty much locks up and I cannot relocate blocks like I am supposed to. Is there a way to cut some of the graphics (particals and the like) So I can play this game smoother on this PoS computer?

Aside from trying to mess around in the .ini's, there is nothing you can really do.
