Does Antichamber have any replayability?
My question has been answered however you may read over the comments/reply if you so desire. Thanks to everyone that did reply.

The question is as simple as the title. If I were to beat the game would there be any point in even having the game installed afterwards so to speak.

Please note easter eggs do not count as replayability.

I would say "no". I haven't "finished" the game so to say, but I am kinda wondering if there is a real ending. I still have a few unexplored places. But once you've done all the puzzles doing them again isn't hard or enjoyable, just like most puzzle games.

Okay thanks for the answer.

Not really, for me. There aren't achievements, so you're not forced to go back (if you're into achievements). Once things are done, it's just seeing how much faster you can do it again.

Actually, yes. I've finished the game, but I'm still playing it occasionally, because there's so much to explore. Reaching the End-Game does not mean completing the game 100%. I'd say I finished the game at around 75% and I still explore. ...And It's always hilarious to watch friends rage while playing this game on your computer. So yes, it does wear some replay-ability but not exactly the kind you think of, It's more about more exploration.

You can always speedrun. We're a growing community. You can check out tutorials for the current routes, as well as the current record videos at http://redd.it/1ajjji

From what I can tell there is no replayability as I don't really consider exploration a main part of the game and that falls into the category of easter eggs. Regarding speedruns while I have nothing against those who actually perform speedruns often I personally feel as though that takes the fun out of the puzzle game. As I can see though there isn't a point to playing through the game over again aside from exploration and it that's the only reason I'd be replaying the game then I may as well play other games with more content for $20. Just my personal opinion but replayability is a very large deal for me on purchasing a game.

edit: fixed a few typos which I have no idea how I made those in the first place.

Come to think of it a few rooms may not be finished, so there's a chance that there will be new contents at some point.

I enjoy coming back and running around every once and then, but certainly there isn't much in the way of real replayability. There are quite a few secrets that are hard to find though, so if that's your bag this is definitely a good one.

No, the central part of the game is exploration. You're set in a chamber with no real direction on what to do or where to go and you have to explore to find new puzzles and progress through the game Metroid-vania style.

I see you haven't bought the game (or you could have bought it elsewhere like I did). But if not, I suggest you watch/read a review of the game and you'll probably be convinced to buy it. Wait for it to go on sale perhaps, but definitely buy it sometime as it's an experience you'll most likely never forget and will stick with you for a long time. (The Gamespot review said this also IIRC) When you do buy it you'll probably wish you bought it sooner.

The game takes about 8 hours to complete and the dev is still adding more content. Isn't that good enough of you're worried about content?

If you're trying to prove a point here you're not really providing any useful information that everyone has summed up better before you. Right now I'm getting the impression that you feel as though others having an opinion of their own is wrong and you want to force them to think like you do. If that is your goal then you're doing a poor job doing that. If that wasn't then I don't see your point at all.

The very same thing you said to me can be said right back at you. What the hell are you doing with the defensive / aggressive attititude? I was only trying to help you not pass up on an amazing game. I literally *have not* seen anyone legitmately not like this game. There was nothing opinionated about my reply *at all*. If you played the game and didn't like it, then sure, I'd respect it as your opinion, but I was / am getting the impression that you haven't played the game obviously and trying to get you to buy it at one point because, as I've said, it's an amazing game and gamers from all fronts have played and enjoyed it. Those who solely play FPS, or mainly play RPGs or only 4X strategy, or heck, my mom who just plays casual games (I had to help her a bit, but she still was amazed by it) ALL enjoyed it.

I really don't care what your prior assumptions are or what your favorite aspect of gaming (replayability?) is; the odds that you will enjoy this game are near 100%. Obviously I can't say 100%, and there is a always a chance you won't like it, but I want to put out a gold reccomendation in for this game. I can't force anyone to buy it (I'm not sure what you meant by saying "force them to think like I do", since I'm under the impression that you haven't played the game so you can't have an opinion on the game yet), but I can try and convince someone to.

EDIT: Oh, and if you want to tell me how exploration after end-game isn't replayability, or the main part of the game, I'd be much obliged. This gave me the impression you weren't aware of one of the most intregal parts of the game--exploration.

EDIT2: Also, how many other $10 single-player games will give you 8 - 10 hours worth of mind-blowing content? I wouldn't say to buy this game at $20, but $10 is beyond a good deal. It was just on sale.

You should read your own post and really think about your approach for future reference. Otherwise I think we're done here even though you posted when the OP clearly states I've made a decision. Thanks for your consideration though however it was unecessary.

It's like asking whether a game you just beat has replayability down the line in a few years. Most of the time you probably aren't interested in running right back through the maze, as you already spent a good amount of time learning the way the maps intersect and interact with the different rooms, and may just feel like you'd be breezing back through the maze with a blindfold. However, if you wait it out for a year or so and come back, you remember what elements existed the first time around that piqued your interest so much, and then it becomes a trip down memory lane. Seriously, asking about replayability is all in the eye of the beholder. Some great games will not get replayed because of the time sink needed to pass it. Some will not be played again because it was too simple. This game just may perhaps live up to its potential due to its innovative design on puzzle mechanics that we've all come to take for granted and may be re-visited every few years (I know this applies to me). All up to whether you think an "Indy" title should deserve a large pricetag to the amount of content and gametime you get out of it.

You can try for speedruns and completeness, but beyond that, I'd say not really. The solutions for the puzzles, once learned, can't really be unlearned, so the challenge of playing the game is basically gone. Unless the devs add more content, it's really a one-time playthrough for 90% of people.

And considering the game is essentailly a metaphor for life, death is final, and there's no replaying your life (unless you believe in reincarnation, but this game wasn't created from that perspective). IMO it's not really intended to be replayed.

The best part is you can always let your siblings or parents give it a shot
