How to unlock weapons?

I have played on several different servers now for some time but I have yet to unlock any weapon.
It's 25 is needed, I suppose that means kills, but when I kill someone the counter doesn't change, even if I count for myself and I have made 25 kills or more with a single weapon I don't get the next tier.

I am having a lot of with the standard weapons, but I would like to unlock some more, so how does the unlock system work?

It should be kills. Most of the time it works without problems for me. I'm not sure, maybe it depends on the server you're playing on.

Can a developer answer this maybe?
I just played on a server that unlocks weapons, I got some dinner, join the same server again and I don't earn any more weapon unlocks wtf?!

I play on the official TO server with the lowest ping to me. Weapons are unlocking just fine so far. However, enough people are commenting about this that there is obviously an issue that needs to be either fixed or explained more clearly.

same i played a server at 3:24 pm then im back on it at 3:22 pm now i cant unlock any weapons and yes it was a real server not bots

Can you get new weapons by killing bots? If not, I'm never getting any new stuff.
