Great game, just a couple problems
I recently purchased this great retro game, and love every second of it..

But just wondering why i can't enable the shadow fx and distortion fx in the options section, is there a certain way to enable these or what?

Also, I know it doesnt effect anything and its really not a big deal.. but I signed up for the newsletter, to find out that I'm already subscribed to it, but didn't get a hex code for the bot..

Anyway, this is a fantastic game that I really enjoy! Keep making these type of games! Especially with the unique art design.

You can only enable shader FX if you've got a graphics driver capable of OpenGL 3 or better (I suppose that'd be "DX11" in Windows-speak) If you're on a Mac, you're out of luck because Apple say what you can have, but on Windows it's possibly the case all you need to do is find some new video drivers.

Oh, and the hex code probably got ate by your spam filter. Some ISPs are so aggressive with spam they actually discard the email before you even get to see it in your spam folder and give you no choice, in which case there's nothing we can do about it.
How long does it usually take for the code to get sent? On my account spam gets filtered into its own folder and there is nothing there.

It's instant.
Then I'm fairly certain it doesn't always work. Not that it's terribly important. Thanks! :)

It does! But notice that we don't verify your email address so if you put a typo in there... it'll whizz off into the ether never to be seen again... not that it's a big deal I suppose, it's only a freebie.
Really no big deal. It is the correct address, though, as I got the "Please confirm your subscription to the Puppygames Newsletter" mail.

Shot in the dark, does whatever is sending the hex code maybe choke on a '+' in the address?

No, +'s are fine. It looks like your spam filter destroyed the email before you got to even see it.
As it's logically impossible for me to disprove that, I guess this is where it ends. I don't however believe that's what happened. It has never ever happened before, not even for the most obvious spam. Ah well, nevermind.

It's happened to a few people; all I know is, we've definitely sent the email. We use GMail to actually do the sending, and our domain is verified with all the appropriate DNS data as well.
I'm using a GMail address. No idea what's up. Let's file it under gremlins.

I would like to get to the bottom of it one day as there is a persistent but very small ratio of people for whom this occurs.
If on that day you need one of those people to help out with testing, let me know.
