Edit: updated my graphics driver to the most recent edition, verified the cache and it doesn't do anything different...get to the Devolver intro screen and the game CTDs.
For anybody having trouble with the launcher crashing with the Mac version of the game, just go into
Users/"YourMacUsername"/Library/Application/Support/Steam/SteamApps/common/hotline_miami/
then right-click the application and click "Show Package Contents" and go into Contents/MacOS and then click YoYo70_Original. The game should launch without the launcher and in the original gamemaker version. Enjoy!

"This is using the Nvidia Control Panel, so it might not work for everyone...
The only one I think really changed anything was switching Negative LOD Bias to Clamp, but the other major setting I tweaked was setting Multi-Display/mixed GPU to Single Display, since I'm using a laptop.
I also changed the PhysX setting from Auto to my dedicated card, but I don't think that would affect anything."
