HotlineGL.exe has no sound, classic one works just fine

As the title says. Using Windows XP, all drivers up to date, verified game cache etc. all the stuff mentioned on the steam support page. Still, no music, no sound when trying to play with the updated version. Any help?

Bad luck. The OpenAL fix works for most people but some have reported it not working and I have no idea why :/

Hmm, I just tried playing for the first time since I completed it soon after release, and sound doesn't work for me either, regardless of OpenAL. Well, dang.
