Black boxes, map and text disappearing?

The troubleshooting FAQ doesn't address this problem, since I don't have an ATI card and it's not black and white.

I'm using the updated version.

Sometimes when I'm playing suddenly the score/ammo boxes turn all black. When I try and exit the level, the words are invisible so I have to blindly press keys to exit. When I get back to the starting screen, it's just the background, no words, so more blindly navigating.

If I keep playing the level with the black boxes happening, sometimes the entire floor, sprites, and ammo/score counters all disappear, leaving only the flashing background and some light circles where the sprites are supposed to be. When I exit the level, the same thing happens for the starting screen,etc. - it's just the background, no text or anything.

Anyone have any ideas?

Kind of disappointed that no one has addressed this issue, if not, already has in a different thread but I think it deserves a lot of attention. I can get through a level usually without it happening. Then all of a sudden the glitch starts to happen and everything breaks down.

The fix for this is known: you need to update your graphics driver.

Updated driver for my Intel HD 4000 and don't get the problem any more.

this is happening to me too. I enter the game, then on the menu only some words show up, and sometimes they are like streched all over the screen. When im actually in the game, some text does not show up, and the points bar is just completely blacked out. Any Help?

Hi! Please open a separate thread for your own issue, and I will help you. Include the following information in your thread: your "DxDiag.txt", "debug.log" and "crash.log" files.

How to find "DxDiag.txt", "debug.log" and "crash.log":

• DxDiag.txt: Hit "Windows + R" -> Run "dxdiag" -> "Save All Information...".
  
• debug.log: Navigate to "C:\Users\<username>\Documents\My Games\HotlineMiami".
  
• crash.log: Right-click on the game in the library -> Properties -> Local files -> Browse local files.

How to upload them:

• Open the files using Notepad.
  
• Select everything (CTRL+A), copy/paste to http://pastebin.com/ and submit.
  
• Copy/paste the link for each file.
