Backing up your save

There's already a well made guide on this subject by one of our community members:

If you plan on entering the beta, please backup your save, there's always the chance your save gets corrupted and you lose all your progress! While this hasn't happened in our internal testing so far, making a backup only takes a little time and can save you hours in the long run.

Opting in to the Beta

Find PAYDAY 2 in your steam library and right-click - select Properties.
In the Properties window - select the tab called "BETAS".
In the drop down menu in the BETAS tab - select "open_beta" and close the window.

Your PAYDAY will now patch itself to the beta version.

We of course want your feedback on how the Henchmen feel and how you feel they're balanced..
We've created a specific subforum just for this purpose, this subforum will be removed shortly after the beta is over, do bare that in mind if there's anything you wish to keep.

Please take care to write as clearly as possible and to separate between bugs and feedback to make it easier for us to go through.

So... The Update appears to be out, but I see no Open Beta. Only the Tournament is still available. Do we just have to wait longer, or is this Beta somehow special?

Yup, up for me as well. It popped up just now. Looks like we had to wait for a while, is all. I'm not complaining - I'd rather get the patch notes before the patch than the other way around.
