Why does it look this bad?

I am playing on a 2011 macbook pro using Windows 7 Pro 64bit on a separate partition, specs are: quad i7 2.2 GHz, 8GB ram, AMD 6750 1GB DDR5

No matter whether i am on Medium, Low or HIGH, the game looks like this, on 1280x800 or 1440x900

Its like I am playing underwater, anyone got any ideas? graphics drivers are up to date.

I using the same laptop as you and I dont know what is going on but this game runs so poorly. You would think that you could get 30+ constant fps with everything on low. I am running everything on low with a res of 1280x800 and i get about 15fps in base battles. That just doesnt make sense

and the worst thing ks that it runs at 26 fps...yours? type alt+f and u can see fps

This game needs to be ignored. Thats all. Played with a friend 2 and half hours and I didnt had single fun in it.

I can run any game in maximum settings, and that's the only game I can run in low becuase the bugs and whatever in the game. Excitment should be over just like it happened to Battlefield 3.

OP, I'm not sure why your graphics look so weird. I do know that I use 16GB ram, Radeon 6950 2GB, AMD x6 1100T. It put me somewhere between low-med, I don't mind for now because I don't want to lag. I just think maybe it could be a driver or firmware issue, maybe it will get ironed out with help from people like you. I would love for your problem to get solved, just the same as I want to upgrade and play on High+. Best of luck.

Robka you need to learn how to have fun in planetside. There is a bit of a learning curve and it takes real teamwork to have "fun" aka be "successful". Also bringing an AMS equipped Sunderer with you will increase your fun because you can park it somewhere then raid a base. When you die you will have a spot to spawn close by instead of spawning all the way back at your territory.

if your using catalyst can't you just overwrite the app settings for aa and that stuff?

cheers for the replies I am trying a few things out now, one of them is in catalyst control center, I will post back if I can get rid of the underwater look!

also having to queue to get on every time I change the settings is pretty annoying!

OK, since constantly restarting the launcher installed something, now when I move the render quality bar it actually does something, at 50% it looks like underwater as you saw above, and before this patch? 100% looked like that too.

I moved it down to 50% and it still looked blurry, then I moved it back up and its as clear as day now, im getting 30fps with most things on low but textures and terrain on high

This must be one of the worst games i have ever played and i have played ALOT....severely buggy, something i would expect from a game in a early beta phase and the graphics.....yuck!

I am not normally one of those guys that judge a game on looks, but when it comes to FPS type games like this, graphics are important, but as long as it doesn't impact the gameplay, although this game is purely multiplayer, something i tend to avoid, since 90% of all players tend to rub it in when they win and cry hack when they lose. This game would have had great potential if it had a single player campaign.

Overall, this game is unfished, poorly executed and the developers should be fired.

Because your "rendering" option is really low in the game. Go into your graphics options, and look for a "Rendering" option somewhere, just raise it to 100%. And for all of you people complaining about "how bad this game is"... take a second to actually learn about the game and play it the way it's supposed to be played, not running around soloing like a chicken with its head cut off. I've only played this game for 2 days already, i never once played Planetside in my life, and i've already joined communicative squads and platoons that know what they are doing, and we've been having a blast using teamwork and working together to capture territory. Don't be mad because you suck at the game.

Do you have flux running? I had this same problem until I quit out of flux.
