Noob with 4000+ SC
I've got a lot of SC (from another Sony game that I don't play anymore) and just started playing PS2. I figured I'd play for a while to see what's worth getting, but I notice two things for sale that seem like they could be pretty good.
One is a weapons bundle for 700 sc and the other is a vehicle bundle that's 2000 sc.
Are either of these worth snatching up or is there something else I should look into buying with my sc? I have very little interest in cosmetics.

Thanks!

you might get a better response from Planetside's official forums because most Steam Users are just like you.

Depends on what the Vehicle Bundle has.

I Prefer vehicles myself, especially Prowlers with Armor Piercing rounds.
but really depends on what the packs offer.

The bundles are almost always worth it, yes.

Buy bundles for the things you like playing. For example, don't buy the vehicle bundle if you don't like piloting many different types of vehicles.

wouldnt recommend getting the weapon bundle becuase default weapon are the best basically..
if you use vehicle then it worth getting that bundle.

Yeah from what i saw of the Vehicle Bundle, that would be what id get. the weapons on it are kickbutt and it has my favorite Armor Piercing with it.

TBH, I'd wait before buying anything with SC. They're making the SC unlocks account-wide and I don't know if unlocks prior to that patch will count.

As for the bundles. It depends on your faction, really. Me personally I found TR starter weapons were pretty good but I hated NC starter weapons. So I'm sure any kind of weapon bundle with NC would be worth it, for me.

I'd suggest saving most of the SC until you get an idea of how the game works.

Pick a class to play, and maybe try it out for an hour or so. Then consider what you'd like to change about the default gun you're using and look to purchase one that suits you better.

Stick with that for a while, and spend SC when you feel the need. The bundles are good deals, but it's likely that you won't really be using a lot of the items in them. It might be more efficient for you to just choose what you plan to use.

For example, in my case, I purchased the Alpha Squad pack near the end of beta, and got 4000 SC and some extra default guns.

I mainly play engineer. I purchased one new carbine, and there is really nothing else that you need to spend SC on for the class. Everything else I need can be purchased with certs only.

I purchased a gun upgrade for the lightning light tank that makes me more well rounded for infantry and vehicle combat.

I purchased the AA rocket launcher for Heavy Assault to give me some AA capability. I find both the default and the Alpha Squad pack primary guns to be very good for Vanu Heavy Assault, so I will not be purchasing a new one.

That totaled up to 2100 SC, and I really don't feel that I need to purchase much else. Sure, I may waste some SC just because, but I don't really use anything else that can be purchased.

TL;DR - You don't really need to spend much SC at all if you focus on your play style. Take a little time and try things out before you purchase and your SC will stretch very far.
