Tenative test in empire, successful... shogun 2 they loaded it up, also very successful. We had it coming.
Yeah, but no way when you bought a DLC for a few colourful individual regiments in Empire - would you have ever thought it would lead to whole hunks of generic game content from Rome2 being parsed out in DLC form.
And in Shogun2 the "clan" DLC came with serious Culture and Religious aspects as well as a well-defined "character" in terms of Clan Strategy and Unique unit tactics. You didn't feel like you were unlocking with money just a truly minor faction; but rather a full-fledged contender with it's own organic agenda to rule all Japan.
