How to kill retreating enemy navy
Hi, I've got a really big problem: I already captured the last city of my enemy. But instead of destroying this nation, it's last fleet is still "raiding" in my waters.
I've been trying to get him to fight me for an unknown amount of turns!!! *mad*
How the ♥♥♥♥ am I supposed to kill him of, if he is able to always run away?!?
This is maddening :-\

Make a fleet and keep chasing him, he cant run away for ever.

Nearly impossible for 1 navy to chase and kill it, but you can keep chasing it to prevent it raiding. If you want to kill it, you need to have 2 navies, 1 force it to retreat toward the other navy and kill it with the second navy.

Or just ignore the raiding if you are playing vanilla patch 17 and the navy isn't too strong. If I remember correctly, the AI raid for 1 or 2 turns, move away, move back, raid again. With the patch 17 changes, your provinces will take a happiness hit, but will recover during their off turns. Just wait for them to die of attrition.

The easiest way to deal with them is use EditSF, and change all of their admiral and general's unit to 1 soldier, the landless faction will die out the next turn. If you don't mind this small cheat over what ever annoyance those landless navies and armies will cause.

Thanks for the tips; I did finally catch him after he ran away from one navy and into the range of another of my navies.
But thanks for the tip with the "cheat": maybe I'll try that the next time...
