Ubuntu 14.04 it Works!
Feral did an amazing job on this game. I am using 358.16 drivers on a GTX 580 and FX-8320 CPU. The graphics are very good, on medium settings everything else off I am getting 50-90 FPS, and very smooth.

I cannot wait to play more games in Ubuntu, Open GL is looking good for nvidia cards at least in this game. This is a must have game for your Linux library.

Yeah, it's a really thorough port, and I can't really notice a difference between Windows and Linux on my hardware (i7-2600K, GTX 970).

You already have OpenGL, it comes with the operating system. On my machine (Linux Mint, AMD CPU, nvidia GPU) the game runs normally. Does it behave weirdly on yours, or does it not start in the first place?

You might be using the open source Nvidia driver, which is the default in Ubuntu but doesn't always work well. This will explain how to switch to the official (closed source) Nvidia driver: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BinaryDriverHowto/Nvidia

Hmm, sorry, I'm not sure what the problem might be then. I use Arch Linux with a Nvidia GTX 660 and it runs smooth for me even with graphics stuff turned up pretty far.

Are you actually using Ubuntu 14.04? Maybe try the latest release instead? :rickweeks:
