Issues with xbox controller and slowness
Hi! I recently purchased Sonic Adventure 2 but I'm having a few problems. I normally use a PS2 controller plugged into a converter, and that didn't work, so I tried my friend's xbox controller. That doesn't work either.

Another problem I have is that the game runs really slow, but really smoothly? I have a nVidia GeForce GT 240 graphics card which is a little old but runs most other games fine. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem is?

This may be really obvious but have you selected the controller as the input on the launcher? this game doesn't automatically detect when there is a controller plugged in like a lot of others do. I don't have any solutions for the game running slower.

Yes I have. It doesn't do anything though..btw it does work with the keyboard but the slowness just makes it unplayable :(

Are you using the wireless or the wired version of the 360 controller?

That is not true, it needs a good graphics card more than it needs a good processor, there's someone who actually runs the game well with a Pentium 4 and Radeon HD5770.

That is strange, if you really have a Geforce GT240, the game should be running at full speed. I guess something else must be slowing down the game for you.
Do you have any software that has framerate limiting features like Dxtory? The game needs to run at 60fps to run smoothly, anything lower than 60fps makes the game run in slow motion.

Yeah, but I don't think I have Dxtory. I might have to look into that. But the thing is, Sonic 4 Episode 2 is slow now as-well. And it's weird because before I got the controller from my friend, the game was fine (for the keyboard), I had to lower the computer resolution to the lowest and played the game. It was fine for the most part but I really didn't want to play with a keyboard and it's almost unplayable sometimes. And when I plug my friend's controller into the USB, NOTHING wants to work. I pulled out the controller and tried the method with the keyboard but it went slow for some reason. And the Xbox controller wouldn't register anything when I plugged it in for the game.

You need a better GPU if it is being slow. (I suggest also figuring out what FPS you're getting by using a copy of FRAPS, free or payed) Also try downloading the drivers for an Xbox 360 controller. I hope this helps.
