Does anyone know if purchasing Riders of Rohan at 50% pricing through LOTRO store tomorrow will update the client on Steam appropriately? Has anyone else purchased expansions through LOTRO instead of steam successfully? I only ask because for the next 24 hours RoR: Heroic is 50% off through Steam, and I'm hoping Legendary is 50% off through LOTRO store tomorrow. Would I just be able to submit the cd key for the expansion to my Steam library and have it automatically update? Thanks ahead of time.

I purchased the Heroic Edition via Steam yesterday. All I received was a CD-Key I had to enter on the Turbine's Account page. The upgrade then was instantly available in the game. So I think it does not matter where you actually buy the upgrade, since nothing has been downloaded, and your acutal subscription is managed via Turbine. Upgrades are downloaded via the Game Launcher, not via Steam.

I did that but did not get the CD Key needed to get the product on LOTRO.
Any ideas on how I can get it since all i got is the recipt saying i bought it from Steam?

Right-click the title, then select CD Key. Then paste that into the turbine account page.
FYI, I was able to purchase the Legendary Riders of Rohan for $35.

I did it. Bought it at the store. Put the cd-key from the store into my turbine account web page. Started the game up with Steam and it updated. It's all good.

Client worked for me just fine after I bought RoR. No issues here.

It should work. By getting the key you are only adding extra content and access to your existing account. The game files are already there so they just have to be activated
