Autosave barely works

So, as some people have pointed out in the past years: Autosave doesn't always work and progress is lost in the process.
I now have run into the same problem, thing is SOMETIMES it works, sometimes it doesn't.
I tried all possible fixes I could find, which for the most part were these two:
- Go to Steam Library
- Right click on Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed -> click Properties
- Go to "Set Launch Options" and make sure nothing is in the text box.

Second solution I found was:
- Go to Steam\userdata\<user id>\212480\remote (user ID being the number for your Account)
- Right click and click Properties on "ast_save.bin"
- Check that file doesn't have "read-only" or "hidden" attribute activated.

Both of these things were NOT the case with my game and I still get the Autosave issue.
Does anyone have any other ideas or do I just have to live with the fact that 50% of the time I won't be able to save?

You can always download others' Autosaves, but the result of that would be getting things unlocked, things you might haven't unlocked before, Stickers, Characters, Tracks, and also your Time Attack ghosts will be the Autosave's ghosts, which means, if you can't beat those ghosts you won't be able to make new self records, so that's up for you to decide.

Although, I'm not really sure how to make others download my Autosave, so you'll need to ask that from other people.

One other thing is you won't be able to complete the achievements for Steam profile, if you wanted to complete them.
