Played half the tutorial, and was immediatly turned off.
The controls are, at best, sluggish. The weapons lack of force against an enemy show you that you're not doing any real damage unless you pay cash, steering is linked to the guns so instead of "I pull up" it becomes "I start pulling up but my guns have to turn that way first, and then i get the "drift" up instead" And then its basicly world of tanks in space after that. So, the tl; dr; version, bad controls, pay to win, not staying in my account.

Did you play long enough to level up? I leveled up pretty fast despite "sluggish" movement and controls..... your ability to maneuver is an aspect of your level. It gets better as you get better :)

There's a tutorial? I just dived right into the killing.

rofl there are settings to change the movement. you dont know how to change simple settings? its a space ship, its supposed to have a sluggish feel, but i dont really feel the same way, i have a good computer and doesnt feel very sluggish to me.i think you dont like this game because your not good at aiming lol

Your skill is, at best, sluggish. Turn your mouse sensitivity up, duh

I would not really say its pay to win. The DLC ships get you into a decent ship but hardly outclass a ship of the same category of a higher rank. You could just do some contracts and unlock MK3 gear, which is superior to most pay items... Or do missions to get credits for mk2 gear, which is almost the same as pay gear.

Only advantage to pay gear is to get you into a battle with half decent gear in seconds rather than spending a hour to grind up

OP, you didn't give the game a chance. At least give it another try and at least make rank 2-3 before you say it's a bad or good game. Today was my 1st day...I'm hooked!

I agree with @gorgimera555 ....like any game, one has to give it a go ...more than a few minutes and certainly more than the first level of skills.

What do you mean by "The controls are, at best, sluggish"? Each size of ship can move at a different rate. Interceptors can physically dodge weaponary with sheer speed and control, so you might want to try out more than just the largest ship.

H4unt3r, what I ment was the flight controls don't respond properly. I've played games like that in the past, the Wing Commander series for example, and it didn't work then either. You don't fly a craft with your guns, you fly it from its manuvering devices, be they jets or flaps. The guns should not enter into the formula.

As for playing beyond the point of leveling, no, thank you. Rather then feeling like fast, sleek space interceptors, I felt more like I was controling, at best, a boat. And even in the Interceptor you start with, it felt like a slow boat at that. The guns themselves that you start with, i might as well have been plinking them with pebbles. I'm not saying I should have taken them out with 1 shot, but I was 25-50 shots in and it still wasn't dead. And if the readout was right, its shields were still up. This game is not a good game, and as such will not stay in my account as I said before.

From the point of view that your weapons/turrets do not move, sure, but what kind of advanced space ship are you in if your weaponary is stationairy? This also heavily depends on the ship and how it's setup. This game is based on forward weaponary, so where you are pointing to fire will be where you are facing.

game sucks
I played for a week thus far, I've run out of my free licence, have yet to gain a T3 ship of any kind due to rank being too low. Only getting about 500 or so rep points for my faction each match, win or lose, it doesn't change much (this is despite contracts) and I need 70000 to achieve rank 6.

So, those of you who don't want to pay real money, forget this game unless you literally have no life, girlfriend/boyfriend and do nothing but sit infront of a computer all day. Forget all these liars above that feel the game is excellent, it's mediocre at best.

Lastly, grind your life away in another long line of epic life wasting games. Grind, farm, grind, farm, grind...

It's a grind because even once you reach a Tier you still do not have enough money (unless you are using real $$$) to buy everything you need for your 3 ships. This isn't a MMO, this is a lobby based game. What do you do in League of Legends? You join a match, win or lose, gain some Summoner XP and eventually you reach level 30. These kinds of games are meant to be centered around playing a few matches, and having fun, not sitting down for 5 hours at a time to game 'on'

H4unt3r: If the guns are foreward firing only, there is no reason for them to move, infact moving causes problems because its no longer foreward, and regardless the guns should not be tied in any way to the manuvering system. The only way a gun should "move" is if it is similar to how EVE online has it, or for that matter Star Trek Online, where your ship maintains weapons lock and targets for you, otherwise the guns need to remain stationary, Otherwise we'd be looking into this for real world use, the only thing the real world systems do is plot a projected point of firing for you to achieve weapons lead. If you do it like this game suggests, you have a pilot trying to keep track of where his guns are, his nose is, and his enemy, because thats 3 things acting seperatly, where under real senario its more 2 item system, enemy and guns, thats all. This game isn't lacking polish, it took a look at some design elements from other games, misunderstood them, and then ran the idea into the ground.

I can see where you are coming from, but somehow I doubt you've played much Freelancer, because that's essentially the kind of space-flight that Star Conflict based theirs on. I'd like to point out most of the imporant movements are not made with the mouse, but are made with the keyboard. STO and EVE do not use the physics that this game uses and I believe that it is a large part in why the game's controls are the way they are.
